so after a month of waiting, we've finally received our REFUND for our first application. just a background, we initially applied for a settlement visa last dec but had to cancel it so we could change the visa subtype. the fee that we paid took about a month to be refunded but i'm really glad that we got our money back.

now, we're just waiting for the visa. it's my 24th day of waiting, hopefully we'll get the decision by third week of feb. :)

Marriage Settlement visa is the official term that the UKVI uses for the Fiancée visa.

    Hello All,
I’ve been lurking around for a few days and there’s a lot of helpful information here! I have now almost completed all the docs we need and have a date set with VFS (2nd of Feb) Are these requirements sufficient enough for a fiancee/marriage settlement visa? we are paying a lot more to get it back within 10 business days so I'm trying to be as detailed as I can and not miss anything that may result in an unfavourable decision
    1. UK sponsor docs
      • 6 months bank statements
      • 6 months payslips
      • HR letter stating name, position, salary and continued permanent employment status
      • mortgage statements
      • council tax yearly statement showing payments made for 2016
      • Land registry document
      • Water bill
      • copy of passport
      • cover letter
    2. Applicants (my documents)
      • Passport and all previous passports
      • cover letter
      • IELTS A1 results
      • TB results
      • Bank statements showing payroll deposits to my account
      • HR letter from company of emplyment (although I don’t know if these are necessary as it’s the sponsors finances that would be needed for this application?)
      • completed online application form
      • completed financial requirements form (Appendix 2 VAF4A)
      • completed UK border agency sponsorship form
    3. Proof of intent to marry
      • Provisional booking in Grantham dated for April 21st for a legal ceremony
      • Save the date cards we sent out to friends and family
      • booking references for our honeymoon
      • email exchange with a wedding photographer
    4. Proof of relationship - My fiancé and I have only known each other since May 2016 but I have spent the last 6months on a visitor visa living together in the UK (I already had an existing visit visa valid for 5 years as my family lives in the UK and I have visited the UK 6 times in the last 10 years)
    • facetime call logs from May 2016 to present
    • screenshots of WhatsApp conversations from May until January 2017
    • about 35 photos of us together and with our friends and families. I made a collage out of these and added captions, also added screenshots of our Facebook photos and pages with comments from friends and families to show that our relationship is recognised by both of our circles
    • boarding passes of our flight to morocco when we went on Holiday
    • a copy of our pregnancy scan dated January 20th showing we are 12 weeks along (this is the reason for all the rushing around and getting married by April, if all goes well we plan to make the same day application for the FLR to be done in Croydon)
    • Screenshot of messages from our friends and family (his and mine) about our pregnancy.
    • letter from my parents about our intent to marry in the UK.
Are we missing any crucial documents to satisfy the embassy? I'm also unsure if we should declare my pregnancy, I've seen forums that some did while others did not.

Looking forward to getting some advice. Many thanks!

:welcome: and great post! I'm also very shortly due to submit with my wife. Only thing I might add to your list would be your birth certificate and a copy of your fiancé's.

Would also like to ask you about when you booked the VFS appointment - did you see how far ahead you could book a date. Like could you choose a date say three weeks after the date you clicked submit, or was there a limit to how far ahead you can choose?

Congrats on your forthcoming blessing too, think you can make your case strongly anyway from the evidence you've listed :)

Hi @jjnikki28, welcome! VFS will ask for your CENOMAR if applying via priority service. Note that they'll keep this for their records.

hello Nikki--and welcome to the group.

i think youve covered all the bases with your application--just one thing though--congratulations on your pregnancy---but i think theres no need to mention it in your application. however your right to budget for a same day decision on the FLR.

If you are currently employed, make sure you mention on the application under the question if you have intention to work in the UK that you are going to quit your current employment so you can settle down in the UK and look for jobs. All the best

I booked the VFS appointment in early January and at that time you can book up to 3 weeks ahead. So yes, you can choose up to 3 weeks in the future.

Thanks everyone!! I think we have everything covered including the CENOMAR for VFS. So fingers crossed for Thursday and the 10 day waiting time for a decision to be made.

Have you paid the priority visa service fee online? If not then you need to print the form for priority and bring that together with your cenomar.

Yes, paid online for priority service. It was a bit confusing as I didn't get any confirmation via email but when you enter your visa reference number, it shows that you have priority service paid for =)

This is essential, and I felt it deserved quoting as there was no further comment on the original post so it might have been overlooked. You won't get a visa without it.

You need comprehensive details of where you will be living. Some people get the property surveyed by a qualified surveyor to show that the property is suitable for you both to live.
