    Welcome to British Filipino!

These rules were originally designed by our dear friend Kuya who is no longer with us, below is an amendment regards posts that can be construed as advertising.

This is a free to use public forum and you are free to join, ask questions and contribute to this site. We are a friendly group of people who are open to share experiences, useful information as well as simple chit chat. Our rules are few, but we do ask all members to abide by them!

    • No posting of any obscene, pornographic or tasteless material. This includes images likely to offend people who frequent this site, although some exceptions may arise in line with world news events or risqué humour. If you ever have any doubts before posting, please ask a moderator or administrator for their opinion.

    • Copyrighted Material. Please do not post any material marked as copyright. If you wish to add public content then please ensure that you add the content as embedded. The forum has facility to embed content, please use this when posting public content. If you cannot embed the content then please don't post it. Personal content can be pasted if it is not publicly available on the internet.

    • No spam. This includes any links to other websites simply to create links for search engine optimization. Only, Administrators, Moderators and Trusted Members can include links to other websites (that they might own) within their signatures for advertising purposes. We do allow and encourage members to post links to websites they have found interesting or useful within the forums that they post in, but blatant spam will be removed and those users will be banned.

    • Simply joining to leave a backlink to your website within your profile page is also considered spam and will be removed promptly!

    • No hate speech against people of a certain religion, race, sexuality or gender. Genuine criticism of religions or nations and their people is fine, but if hate speech is identified it will be removed.

    • Please show respect to fellow members. Although we encourage debate on all subjects including sex, politics and religion. Please bare in mind that these are sensitive subjects and offence can easily be caused. Simply offending another member will not be met with banning or necessarily a warning, we understand that messages can often be taken out of context and have no interest in punishing people if they make mistaken comments. However, bullying and online harassment using this forum will not be tolerated!

    • We will delete any posts that can be construed as adverts that seek to recruit any Filipino citizen who is resident in the Philippines for work in the UK or elsewhere. Operating a recruitment agency is illegal in the Philippines and we here on this forum respect the laws of the Republic of the Philippines.

If you have any questions regarding any of the above or have any concerns, please contact one of the moderators and we will be happy to help.

    Thanks

    Kuya ;)

Have I spotted the 'deliberate mistake?'

Post starts with, "These rules were originally designed by our dear friend Kuya who is no longer with us"

    And ends with

    "Thanks

    Kuya"

Yes it is a copy of the previous rules, and I left it that way deliberately, in memory of our friend.

You don't need to be removed. Just log out and don't log in again.

You posted a Copyright Getty image, it wasn't even a link but was actually uploaded so that we are actually hosting the copyrighted image, Paul removed it and is reviewing all other images that we are hosting to check that we are not breaking the law.

So does all text from an outside source have to go inside the forums quote box with a source link?
Is that what you mean by "content as embedded"?

If you post a link to say a video on YouTube the forum automatically embeds it that means it puts a wrapper round the link and the YouTube player will appear to be embedded in the site, the actual files are still on YouTube they don't exist here and the player links back to the source of the content namely YouTube.

Strictly speaking if you cut and paste copyright material from any site for example lets say a news story you should include a link back to the source and at least make the text look like it was quoted "" or '' it is not mandatory to use the QUOTE tags what is important is to include the backlink to the source and to be clear that you are referring to an outside source.

Please can you tell me how I have done wrong, as I don't understand what I wrote on my introduction that was wrong, I had no intention of breaking the rules.

Just some clarification. What about a screenshot from gov.uk? It's public information, so I assume OK? Obviously screenshot is not the best way to offer information, as it can be out of date.

Hi Dave, what did we do, I can't see anything having been done to your thread by an admin?

And I can't see anything wrong with your thread?
