@joi1991 confirmed the child won't pay IHS too and the visa validity is like the mother, only for 6 months. She's busy at the mo but she might be able to come online and elaborate. :)

Just for info, although mine was Spouse, we booked the appointment on the UKVI portal, which should be fine for you as long as you match the times as stated above. The portal kicks automatically to a site for you to pay the IHS as part of the stages after you've submitted the application, so for Fiancé I'd imagine when you do the FLR online it will do the same :)

    Thanks @Timmers @JoshuaTree @Brom @joi1991 @Methersgate

Thanks for clarifying position re IHS. As regards booking the VFS appointments I'll just do that from the UKVI site - and keep fingers crossed that I can secure 2 slots as near to one another as possible.

Kris and son have their TB tests this coming Tuesday. I believe the results are known and communicated there and then. Neither have TB so hopefully no issues. Is it a certificate that is issued?

Finally, for now! Re CFO - does Kris have to wait until Visa issued to attend seminar it can she book it now and attend before visa is issued? I appreciate the sticker is all important but but not sure if they will issue to applicants ahead of visa issue. Also - will her 14 year old boy have to attend / receive a CFO sticker?

    Many thanks everyone.

I hope you can sort the appointment for them easily.

TB test certificate is issued yes. Usually issued within an hour of waiting if Kris won't conduct further tests, which I think she won't.

If Kris lives in Manila or Cebu she can actually do the CFO seminar while waiting for the visa decision but once she gets her visa she needs to go back to get her CFO sticker which won't be issued until the start of visa validity. Based on @joi1991 experience Kris only need to bring her child's passport, he doesn't have to be in the seminar.

I'm actually off to Cebu right now for my CFO seminar tomorrow. :D

Ahhh thanks for that @Mattecube . That's worth checking @Scotschap16 . Joys son was still very young so maybe that's why he doesn't need to attend the seminar. Since Kris's son is 14 then he might attend the thingy Mattecube kindly posted. Sorry didn't know about that. :)

I should know the answer to this but I'm maybe having a senior moment. At what age does one become liable for the visa fee - or is age irrelevant? Kris's son will be 14 when he travels to UK with her (assuming settlement visa granted of course) and of course will submit visa simultaneously with Kris. Is it simply a case of 2 visas 2 fees? What about babies or toddlers?

    Thanks.

yes 2 people 2 visas, my understanding is there is no lower age limit for settlement visa.

    Damn damn & thrice damn!

As expected really - true love comes at a (heavy) price. But getting Krissy & her boy over here is worth the contents of Fort Knox (I'm in bulls**t mode to earn brownie points from my dearest @inaroiles!););)

Another question please. I am sending Kris an original extract of my birth certificate and decree of divorce. Both were issued by the National Records of Scotland and each bears the embossed stamp and cost £15 a pop.

She will add these to the folder of additional information she is assembling for her visit to VFS following online submission of both her and her son's visa application.

As I will also need these originals when Kris and I visit our chosen Registrar will they be returned to Kris when her passport and (hopefully!) visas are returned? If not I'll again have to shell out another £30.

Would it be acceptable to VFS for Kris to take the originals on the day but offer a copy of each - thus retaining the original extracts for our use later in UK?

    Thanks, Gerry

You don't need to send your birth certificate. The divorce paper though has to be original. The officer will reserve the right to keep the original copies. Luckily for me, the decree absolute of my fiance was returned (they only kept the photocopy) so I'm pleased as I needed that for my CFO seminar. My friend on the other hand wasn't able to receive back the divorce paper that she submitted so she have to delay her CFO seminar and told her fiance to get another copy and send it to her.

In theory, they should return your original divorce certificate, but we just never know. Depends on the ECO.

Just provide a copy of that so they'll just take the photocopy not the original.

I would look to do it that way yes

    Many thanks @Brom27 & @Mattecube.

Another question folks. Should we create a new UKVI online account for the purpose of submitting the settlement visa application or use the existing account used for the visitor visa application? Presumably her son will require a separate account to submit his application?

    Thanks.

You can use exisiting account from her visit visa to do the settlment application. Not sure how it works when it comes to the dependant, maybe create a separate account, not really sure

Same account and her son can be done on the same application although 2 fees will be due. There is a question on the application about children and when u answer yes it allows information about the child to be filled in. How old is he?
