    Its the nerve talking.
I took the ielts exam blindly (no idea what it was). I only found out a few minutes before the test when i asked the other candidates waiting for their turn. My bf and his frends tells me my english is okay, so there is no need to worry (of course i believed them ).

Just tell her that you are communicating in english anyways so there is no need to panic over it.

Another couple of quick random queries!

    1. As I've read answers both ways - sponsorship form SU07, not required I believe? Or may as well include it? As the form reads, looks like it's applicable... not a great form really.

    https://www.gov.uk/government/uploa...ment_data/file/262493/sponsorship-form_12.pdf

    2. Visa start date - if we submit in February, pay for 10 days priority service but state intended date of travel of 31st March, will they heed that and have the Visa start date based on the travel date, or do they start it from when it's (hopefully) approved?

Submit the SU07 if you wish but it is not needed, a lot of people here on the forum submitted it.

Put your travel date as 31st March and they should oblige.

As I thought - slowly getting better at this applying lark. Thanks Timmers :like:

The documents I stapled were from the evidence of relationship section like printed flight itineraries, museum/tour tickets, postal receipts, hotel receipts. And for other bulk documents like bank statements, payslips, etc -- I used paperclips to group them accordingly.

    Questions above:
    1. Not really needed. There is a specific visa for the sponsorship form.
    2. Yes, they will oblige. I put December 28 as my intended date of travel and got my visa November 16. The visa validity stated is December 28. ;)

Before I forget -- on your validity date, you should give some extra days allowance for the CFO seminar, if your lady hasn't yet attended. She can't fly out of the country without the CFO sticker.

Hi @tipipay thanks so much, very useful - yes all I've stapled so far are the flight e-tickets. I found some mini bulldog clips tucked away in a drawer (purchased in a previous life when I was an organised human) so they'll be consumed and am looking at the treasury tags too.

Good point on the CFO step, now we've discussed it I think Jasmin will aim to go earlier for the lecture then just return for the stamp later. It is all quite tight isn't it?! As you need to book a flight after the visa decision for after the travel date, but allow for the CFO time, yet still arrive in the UK and collect the resident permit, within the 28 days the temporary visa allows

Someone in UKVI either loves logistics, or enjoys forcing people to run an administrative obstacle course for their own sadistic pleasure... :erm:

As this thread has had me adding tangents to the original tangents :p here is our current thinking of a schedule for anyone's thoughts, based on what I worked out talking to my buddy @Brom27 :

    - We're working back from a target travel date of April.
    - I need to wait for my January payslip, and order/receive latest bank statements before sending the documents pack to Jasmin so assuming to post by end of January.
    - thinking to click Submit on the application on 31 January - other reason for this is my tenancy expires 3 October so I want a clear period of over 6 months left from the date of submission! Then am thinking to select a date for the documents submission of a week or so later to allow time for Jasmin to receive the documents and add to them.
    - Pay for the priority decision service to have the answer in February, so Jasmin knows that she should definitely resign in March and give a month's notice.
    - Book CFO seminar for during March.

That's the roughest of rough plans so far :boxer::frust:

Sounds like a plan to me. If you apply for priority lets just hope the ECO will go towards your plan of flying in April and start the visa validity there so you won't have a problem, although I believe they will. All the best man :like:

Cheers Brom :) yeah that's the query in my head, if it comes with an earlier start date she'll just have to leave :D

Well, you got it all covered @JoshuaTree :like: Hope this all goes according to your timeline. We also did the timeline thing as I still have to give notice to work and render at least 30days.
    Good luck! Cheers! :D
It will all be worth it in the end. :)

Hehe thanks @tipipay all reassurance gratefully received!
Is true on the timeline thing, I wonder if they consider people having to give notice, they should do.
I'm certain something will go wrong, just hope it isn't major :D:like:

@tipipay got her preferred date on her visa so they should do to you too. That's why they ask for your date of planned travel to the UK coz that will also give them idea when to start the validity, as I notice :D

    I'm sure they will @JoshuaTree.

Also, I added a note on Part 8 (additional info) of the online form that I will quit work once they grant me the visa, given the appropriate notice, to give way for my settlement in the UK. This part is optional though.

If Jasmin books the CFO seminar for March, she'll get her sticker as well since she'll have her visa issued by that time. If she attends the seminar without the visa, she'll get the sticker on or after the start of the visa. Good planning, almost there! :)

That's a great point actually and would help to explain the choice of date - I'll stick that on our form now, thanks again Tipipay :)
