Just found something that concerns me - we'll need to avail the priority service and I came across a reply from @tipipay in @Brom27 's final checklist thread:

I'm confused. Can Jasmin get one again for this even though she's now married? Does she need to? Just don't want her to arrive at VFS and have a last minute hitch...

I thought the CENOMAR was just required for the priority service when applying for the Fiancée visa, hopefully one of the other members can clarify this for you @Dav3&Ai5a might be able to help :)

Don't worry, all will become clear.

Submitting a NSO marriage certificate would make more sense to me but sense and visa applications do not always follow.

Thanks Timmers, that's exactly what I was thinking too, makes sense for a marriage visa but not for the spouse visa, yet it says it is for both. Thanks for tagging and opening the question :like:

    Hi @JoshuaTree,

I cannot confirm if a marriage certificate would suffice for your spouse visa priority service as I didn't apply for a spouse visa. But when you request for a CENOMAR online and you're already married, I believe you'll receive a CEMAR instead. CENOMAR is form no. 4 while the latter is form no. 5 or Advisory of Marriages.

Please see attached images as samples. x

I agree, CEMAR (Certificate of Marriage) is the way to go.

If you and Jasmin is already married (that means a spouse visa), you will need the certificate of marriage from NSO.
In my case, I submitted a CENOMAR (Certificate of No Marriage) to show I'm SINGLE and never been married in the Philippines. I applied for Fiance visa, not spousal visa. You have listed marriage certificate in your list. I'm sure you will be fine. :)

@Dav3&Ai5a @Timmers @tipipay thanks so much for the replies, very interesting and useful especially the uploads :like: Yes we have the NSO Certificate of Marriage on the yellow paper with the blue seal. The form is labelled Municipal Form No. 97. Obviously this would show it's already recorded at the Philippine Statistics Authority (you'd think) :erm: so I agree with you guys and I think we're good - I just might ask Jasmin to check with VFS anyway tomorrow and I'll report any findings :)

    @JoshuaTree submit NSO Marriage Certi
Get the CEMAR (different from NSO marriage certificate) and off you pop with both certificates just to be 100%

They have a strange way of doing things in the Philippines, you would have thought that a marriage certificate would suffice but not the case.

I spoke to my wife about it and apparently the CEMAR (Certificate of Existing Marriage) is a document showing you are married, it will also state if the holder has been married before, so I'm told.

If your missus has the chance ask her to get some clarity on the matter if she speaks to someone who can put the matter to bed as I am guessing this will crop up again here on the forum.

Thanks for having a chat with your lady on this Timmers, very kind :) - it really is ridiculous isn't it... I haven't seen it crop up in the Spouse application threads here or documents contents lists so I would have completely missed it, but maybe it's because it's the combination of a Spouse visa and using the Priority service?

My freshly printed contents list is screwed...

Sorry to cause confusion again @JoshuaTree lol with regards to CENOMAR. Seems like you got everything covered already on your list, very detailed. Best of luck and you might get the visa before me :D :like:

Hi @JoshuaTree, @arnold&nayely would be able to confirm if VFS will ask for a CENOMAR/CEMAR if availing priority service for a spouse visa.

Hey @Dav3&Ai5a thanks again, that is a very good spot if Arnold availed of it - Jasmin is ordering it tonight anyway! Will update :like:

@arnold&nayely submitted a CENOMAR even though he is already married and applied for a spouse visa because I think he was confused with the VFS page that says submit CENOMAR if you go for priority. He got the visa nevertheless. :like:
