Once again you fall short in your command of the English language and/or deviate when unnecessary.
Please help me. When did "I" deviate into stories about others?
    Your concentration is waning again.

Hardly. I just think you try to take the moral high ground too readily Mike. There is no need for it. I am sure you are not as squeaky clean as you make out. Are you? Be honest.

I try to be accurate and live in the "black and white" as you say.
I make mistakes like the rest of us but I tell you what gets my goat up, John...
It is people who spout off on subjects with an obvious complete lack of knowledge about said subject.
Then it degenerates into a tangential mess without any clear point(s).

Guys please don't let this get too personal, we all have opinions and views on things, this is a place to discuss them without stress, I'm going to bed shortly so I won't see any more replies till the morning.

edit: you got in just before I posted Mike, I posted this just after John's post.

You know what gets my goat? An innocent thread where people reveal a bit about themselves and some plonker comes along and looks down their nose as if they are better than those others.

So lay off the high and mighty stance. And get back to yer cab mate.

Yes I wouldn't disagree. Think is we have just had an 11 million pound dual carriageway built right from our industrial estate (one of the biggest in the EU I'm led to believe) to the main route in and out. Even the local HGV drivers still think that the b-road is still the best option. Bloody infuriating. I can tell when a lorry has a 44 ton load cos the house shakes really bad.

    That sounds bad, HaloHalo.
If enough residents get together to complain, maybe something could be done at the local level.

You still never told everyone when you passed your HGV licence?
Someone who drives artics from a computer keyboard.
    What game was that? :lol::lol::lol:

There is that but I guess everybody has a right to the road so it may well not go anywhere

If there is a better road for the HGV's to get to the industrial site there should be a way to highlight that to the local authority.
You would need to drum up support from your neighbours though and get them to sign a petition.

I have never driven an artic or given the impression I have.
I didnt realise you were quite the trucker you are. And just because you drive an artic doesnt give you any elevated status to look down your nose at those that do not. You are a trucker. Fullstop. I suppose somebody has to be one.

Almost everything that you buy for your house is moved by artics and there are many thousands of people who make sure those items get there.
Driving an HGV is a very demanding job, costs many thousands of pounds to get and the driving test is unbelievably hard to pass. My friend was a 747 pilot and said he struggled more with learning to drive an artic safely than he did planes.
HGV drivers meet many people who are car drivers that think they know all about driving. Until they drive an artic around the UK, they will never know the demands that are required to do the job safely and efficiently. We don't look down our noses at anyone if they have a valuable comment to make but we do dismiss idiotic comments from people who know nothing about the job. Instead of pasting laws about HGV work, comment on things you know instead of making a fool of yourself.

I was in similar work to you years ago and I could go back to it again. Right now I prefer to get home every night to be with my family. That is more important than money.

"Plonker".....hmmm....resorting to name calling is just about your level these days.

    I am home every night.

Erm. We all think our jobs are important. Truckers also. Bus drivers are the same.
