That's because you have so many holes to make fun of in your comments.

Yes you are right but I do not ask you irrelevant questions about your line of work because I am not interested.

How do you come to that conclusion? Yours are so narrow and short sighted. Typical cab mentality. It probably stunts the mind, talking to yourself all day.

I am not interested in your line of work either. And its not a job I would aspire to. Too dull and boring. How did you end up in that line?

Once again your answer is too vague to reply to. What conclusion?
Try to imagine what the other person reads when you ask questions, it would help to get rid of the grey areas in communication.

Driving artics are, incredibly similar to driving cars, maybe they don't have them where you live but look into mobile phones, they are a boon.

Just to get the conversation back on track...

I really have no problems with speed cameras. If it generates income so what? That's less money from the taxpayers' pockets. I do drive but have never been caught by a speed camera because I generally abide by the limit. If I was caught speeding I would just accept it was my own fault.

The only reason that speeding motorists object to the fact that speed cameras make money is because they have been caught braking the law. If they don't learn their lesson that is their fault. Keep within the speed limit and deaths on the rosds would be greatly reduced

The same argument applies to tax on booze and cigarettes. If people choose to indulge inn taking substances hazardous to health it's only fair they should be funding their future care with insurance (i.e. the tax on cigarettes and booze) Luckily, I don't drink or smoke but I do drive.

But illegal parking - that can be a different matter altogether. Your car may have broken down or you parked somewhere your shouldn't because of an emergency situation.

That is all I have to say on the subject!

I dont object to speed cameras. And speed limits are necessary. I would be interested to know the percentage of motorists that break them with regularity, wether they get caught or not. But I see a lot of people speeding on the motorways and dual carriageways. Speeding as in driving at well in excess of 70 mph.

I passed by the Advanced Driving Test many years ago and was also a winner in an RAC competition back in 1997 but, like everybody else, I do exceed the speed limit at times, it is easy to do, and those speed signs that tell you your speed really work for me - if I am over the limit and the sign tells me, I slow down right away.

I never break the speed limits Howerd.
I work through many agencies and they stipulate that if a driver has 6 points, there is no work for him/her.
So apart from the extra dangers of speeding, I would make myself unemployable.

It would certainly take a good deal of control never to exceed the speed limit. Do you have a SatNav that beeps at you if you are approaching the limit?

It can be done if needs be. But hard to sustain 100% of the time, I agree.

I would say that one would have to aim to drive within the limit to avoid inadvertently exceeding it.

    Yes, Howerd.
I would have probably slipped up without those warning beeps, especially going downhill.

I have one of the sat navs that beep when there is a speed camera up ahead, I have found that to be quite useful in areas that you are not familiar with.

Is it true that all speedometers show that you are going 5mph faster than you actually are? I thought I had read this somewhere.
