If I was you I would look into it in more detail if its something you really want to do, it may well be doable, the subject of someone getting a UK settlement visa then residing and working outside the UK does not come up very often on the forum as in it never has :)

He wouldn't want to leave his work.
Our initial plan really is to see each other every weekend or whenever he got off work. His schedule is 4 days work then 4 days off.
So we planned that he will be staying with me in Ireland whenever he has 4 days off and I'll stay with him in uk during weekends when he has work.

But if the settlement will be put in jeopardy I'd then have to decline the offer and just look for a job in uk. It's been the initial plan anyway.

And It means I will be with him soon and for good.

    Hi everyone,

    Here I am again.
    I'm finishing the online application.

I'm at the family details section and I am so confused about the Spouse/Partner section.

Do I need to enter his passport number and his details or mine?

The guidelines says my name. But the header section says that it's the details for spouse.

    They should fix that.

Thanks for all the information guys.

you regularly refer to your partner as your husband--so i guess that makes you the spouse.

I just got confused with the guidelines they have.

It was Spouse/Partner in the section.
But the guidelines were referring to my name which is weird cuz I already filled that up in the personal details section.

So I put his passport number and his name on it.

I hope I did it right cuz I already submitted it :O

Is it right that the priority service and the premium lounge can be paid online thru vfsglobal.co.uk site?

Do I pay for it after the visa fee payment?

yes--its a separate transaction to vfs direct. but i understand you can also pay in cash when you turn up for your appointment also.

Does my husband's scanned passport copy needs to be notarized?

He just scanned it and printed. Is it ok to just submit that as it is?

    Thanks.

Tell him to take the passport to a solicitor to be photocopied..then stamped and signed as a true copy by the solicitor. They usually charge £5... mine didn't charge...no need to be notarised

My appointment is already scheduled tomorrow.
Is it ok to just submit the scanned copy of his passport since that's the one he sent me?

I'm not sure if I can still have a certified true copy of that scanned passport copy in here.
Or maybe I can have it notarized here?

well--as you already have your appointment--at VFS ?--its a bit late now to do anything about it. i dont know how you can have a photo copy certified or notarised--without the real passport to compare it to !

    good luck.

Does the same sex partner means not unmarried?

    I submitted the documents today.
    Under settlement husband category.

They had a discussion before they really accepted it.

They said applicants under settlement husband is expected to settle with his wife. Same sex couple should have picked civil partnership. They said that's what they always do whenever they receive that kind of application.

They were even surprised that we got married here in the Philippines.

But I told them that the UK embassy in Manila official who performed our wedding let us pick whether we wanted marriage or civil partnership.

We asked her the difference and she said if we picked marriage then we are husbands but if we picked civil partnership then we are civil partners. Other legal coverage are the same.

That's why we decided to pick the husband category.

They said they will accept it and just endorse it with a note that they informed me to chance my application to civil partner and that I decided to push with the husband category.

I never realized that it could be an issue.
    Now I'm so worried.

I avail the priority visa fee so I get to hear from them in 10 days and hopefully it's a favorable one.

    *sighs*
