Yeah but he just isn't and never will be.

He is not the man of the moment, he's a man trying to escape scandal at home, nothing more.

Churchill is another question, after the war he was detested by the British, we got the war dividend of the NHS and some degree of social protection from cradle to grave but that was because we got rid of Churchill and got a labour government.

Churchill was the man for the moment, the politicians we have today in this country are quite simply nowhere near the stature of Churchill or Zelenskyy, and Zelenskyy frankly has more guts right now than any western leader past or present, there you have the right man at the right time for his people.

What would you say about Macron, the guy that the media is backing ......... French friends of mine are being Le Pen, why? Charlie Hebdo springs to mind...... Whatever you read in the media, it is not showing the true picture, is it?

The last thing the world needs at this moment is a neo-fascist France, I don't know much about Marcon so can't really comment on him.

Just watched the news, 3 hour queues in Montreal to vote, interviewed a lady who said Le Pen will be good for France.

    Share price?

Le Pen wants to yank France out of NATO and the EU, I mean basically giving Putin exactly what he wants, a weaker western alliance, if something like that happens Putin will attack the Baltic states and Poland and you will have World War 3 right there and then so who gives a crap about the share price.

I do not believe what is written in the media, and I am not so interested. The gutter press are suggesting all sorts of things - KINGDOM COME - nuclear war and all that bull! I think after Covid your heart must be beating too fast .....have an alker selzer!

However this makes good reading - https://ripostelaique.com/lart-de-falsifier-les-elections.html

Odds on that Macron gets in again - this will save you from your period Oss

There's been much talk about the EU not being here in many years to come, what is the alternative? The rise of nationalism (again)? Right-wing governments hell bent on settling scores? Has history taught us nothing?

Within the EU we have Hungary - they are pro Russian and have voted not to have any arms for Ukraine move through their country, what does this tell us about Europe?

Interesting isn't it that in the last 77 years since the war we have had a labour government for around 23 years of that time and a tory government for about 54 years and yet the aspects of Britain that are precious to the people, like the NHS and the basic state pension, came in from the socialists, but all the time we're being sold the story that all the woes of the country are the result of the labour administrations and for some god forsaken reason that assertion seems to be believed.

How come we are not living in paradise after decades of tory rule, or maybe if you look at it some rather small and decreasing numbers of people are living in paradise and maybe that was the goal.
