As I reported 2 weeks in a similar post, we contacted Forex Cargo. They passed on the mobile number (3 mobile numbers for the same guy in fact) for the area representative. Said he would be with us last week. I am not going to chase them as I did LBC, who were equally unreliable. Shoddy Shoddy Shoddy. I think Howerd is correct, just squirt the money directly over the internet, far less hassle, ultimately the same result.

The LBC agent for the North East tells me they don't always pick up every two weeks as is it would simply not be financially viable to do so. She has apparently told the call centre in the Philippines not to promise customers that a box will be collected on a certain day. Only she can say when the box will be collected but the call centre does not always provide her number to customers.

In my case LBC had not even told her about collection of my box and, even today, LBC still did not know whether they were collecting or delivering a box!

According to the agent, the tracking on the balikbayan box should work but takes about two weeks after collection. If I do use LBC again, I will take my box to the agent in Hull for collection as I think that will be more reliable and means I won't have to wait-in for the box to be collected.

As for 'Nelson', he had, apparently, been swindling LBC since 2000 and they kept giving him chances to pay back the money. Finally, they got fed up and got rid of his services.

Nelson has a different story. I have spoken to him face to face at length. Who knows where the truth lays. I dont believe the LBC representative I spoke to any more or less than Nelson, to be honest.

Yes. The tracking does work. It worked well on our first box. Picked up by Nelson for LBC.

It was the second box where the tracking "didnt work". But that was because Nelson picked the box up ....... but diverted it. It was delivered but via a different carrier. Hence no tracking through LBC. :D

I will wait to see what happens now. The agent says they will pick up the box tomorrow. Just want to be sure of it getting to Philippines before Xmas as I will be meeting with my prospective in-laws for the first time.

The local agent was good to their word! They picked up the box yesterday evening. The driver is Filipino. Apparently LBC told the agent to collect on 23 September, even though that is not a day there were even due in the area as they onloy collect every two weeks around here.

If I do send any more boxes I will arrange with the local agent directly as the call centre staff in the Philippines are useless!

Hi. A friend of mine will be sending a box to Manila by next week. Would you mind giving me the number of LBC who handles pick up. Thanks

If you mean the number of the person who actually pick up the box that depends on the region on where the box iis picked up. Different drivers in different regions. Call LBC, tell them where you are and they will give you the correct number of the driver in your region

I agree with HaloHalo, LBC will, almost certainly, give you the number for the pickup in your area.

As for my package, it was delayed for several days en-route to Manila and is now due to arrive at Manila port on 11 November. The tracking is working on the LBC Express website though I find it odd that once the package left the UK any tracking happened just after midnight!
