Anybody know the name of the UK Filipino newspaper. Is it the Daily Planet or something?

Ahh I didn't realise John. Got an LBC man coming tonight I'm led to believe. Yea, sure I recall seeing that paper at the back of our Asian store.

Apparently LBC put a message out in the UK Filipino newspaper saying that Kabayan Nelson was no longer working for LBC.

Oh Sheet. I had no idea he covered such a wide area.

I have a contact number for the man in the LBC London depot if you want to phone him to confirm that Nelson no longer works for LBC.

So the implication is that it will be a new driver for your next box.

For me there will not be a next box. I have been put off Balikbayan boxes for life, now.

What was the name of your collector?

If Doms is Nelson and ours was Nelson, theres a good chance your is or was Nelson.

I told LBC that the guy didn't drop off the box so he gave me his mobile and said his name was Chris. I called the guy and he responded by addressing himself as Chris. Thing his he isn't reliable as I called yesterday, said he was on his way, didn't arrive. That's just dropping a box off, dread to think when its full. We might sack it off for now. Our cases are full of pasalubong anyhow

Okay. Its a bit of a mess isn't it. If Nelson collects then he is no longer collecting for LBC. Checkout my other thread on this. If Nelson isn't collecting anymore then it will probably be a new driver / collector.

I don't think Nelson will be doing any more pickups personally. I don't think he will be privy to LBC data and collection info as they now say he's no longer contracted by them. This Chris said a few days ago that he couldn't get here as traffic was jammed at Birmingham. I dunno if that was just an excuse or genuine. Yep I'll have a look na

Or put it another way. It seems Nelson hasn't collected on behalf of LBC since 22nd January, from what LBC say. So any boxes he has collected in the meantime will not have been shipped via LBC. Even if it is in an LBC box and has LBC paperwork associated with it.

Yep he would've just had the last few days data of pickup just prior to finishing as you say

Well. There you have it. We wait now to see if our box arrives via its alternative carrier / routing. Maybe this thread will help others, either now or in the future. Maybe it should have gone under "Warning and Dangers".

I don't see how the boxes collected that are LBC would be shipped by another courier without payment unlees done in cash. Cheques etc would be made out to LBC wouldn't they?

Yep for whatever reason he wanted a leaving present before splitting with LBC and he got it with all boxes. You know we buy iPads at work, I mean lots of them. There was a spate were they just kept falling off the back of the lorry, soto speak. In the end we binned the company off because their courier company just weren't reliable. They lost a good customer and tried to get our business back but we refused because of the inconvenience of their courier

This has of course occurred to me. We wait and see. He is here on the island right now collecting more boxes. He would be foolish to be flogging the stuff off in the manner you describe. Especially if he was now going to repeat that a second time.
