You also need to make sure that your fiancé books an appointment at the Embassy before he leaves the UK.

Yes, the embassy will review your documents. When we did ours it was in Cebu with Mrs Moya Jackson but she has now left. The process of contacting the embassy via email was our method of setting up the appointment. Someone here may well be able to provide details of who and how to contact.

Hi! Just wanna know how did you guys compile the other supporting documents such as wedding cards and pictures? Do I just need to put all the cards in an envelope and photocopy them?
We have a photo book (paper is glossy like magazine style), wherein we compile our pictures we wanted to submit. We're thinking that it'll be easy for the person assessing the application to look at it. Would that be good enough?
Thank you very much and advice is greatly appreciated.

I copied and pasted our photos into a Word for Windows document. Added a caption to each. 3 x photos to a page.

We didnt include any cards. We were advised that they would add no weight to the application.

Thank you this post has been very helpful.

My partner is currently in the UK on a one year tier 5 volunteer visa, and is due to return home when this expires in approx 6 weeks (15-March-2015) Having fallen in love we plan on being engaged next month (February 2015). My questions are as follows.

As we will be engaged and my partner will return to the Philippines on March 15th, how exactly do we apply.?.

I am aware of the fees, criteria, documentation required and of course all the evidence to substantiate we are in a truthful relationship. I am confident we meet all the aforementioned criteria.

But who applies, me from the UK, or my partner from the Philippines, and more importantly WHERE exactly do we submit our application and documentation?

The loved one will have to apply from the Philippines although you will be providing the vast majority of the paperwork.

When all the documents are in order you set up an account online at the VFS site (they deal with the visas to the UK from the Philippines).

    Look at the link below, one of the chaps here did a step by step guide on how to apply;

I'm a british citizen, my partner
Is mexican! Been together 18 months and she is now pregnant.. She is in the uk now for the second time but on arrival she was told she has to leave in 2 weeks or won't be able to enter again.. If she overstays these 2 weeks to have the baby here in the uk (paid for by me) will the surinder singh route be an option for us for her to get back into the uk after visiting her family? Is the surinder singh route still effective?

Note that the link I posted is only to apply and set up an appointment to submit all your documents.

A word of warning, do not use Royal Mail to send any of your visa documents to the Philippines, always use DHL (only takes three days).

We only deal with all things relating to the Philippines Josh, different rules will apply to different Nationalities, I'm sure if you peruse online you will be able to get some help. Go to see an immigration advisor or maybe the Citizens 'Advice Bureau.

    Sorry I cant help.

    Hi All,

RE: FLR (M) renewal question - 5 Year Route.

We got our initial spousal visa granted in the Phils on December 31, 2012 and my wife entered the UK within a week on January 3rd 2013. Her Visa was for 33 months (expires September 30 2015). I rang the UKVI and they said we could apply for the FLR M 28 days before the current visa expiry. I said that my wife would have actually been residing in the UK for 30 months on July 3, 2015, but they were insistent that I would need to wait until early September to renew her FLR.

Has anyone else been in this situation as I don't want to try an apply after 30 months in UK and lose the £601 application fee but I wanted to know if what I had been told was correct.

    many thanks.
    Rob & Novi.

Stick with what you have been advised by the UKVI, the initial 33 months is given because they give you three months to sort yourself out so to speak and doesn't count as time in the country, we were discussing the same subject here the other week.

Just mention on your FLR application your situation and that you were advised by the UKVI, attached any relevant correspondence from the UKVI too relating to this just to be sure.

Hi Rob, I'd say the UKVI has mis-informed you. You said it yourself, you're on the 5 year route. That means 2 * 30 months residence in the UK which of course equates to 60 months residency. That is the requirement, 5 Yeats residing in the UK. My wife just got her first FLR last week. We applied in person 1 day after her 30 month in the UK. The additional 3 months on your entry clearance is as has been stated, time to get things together like arranging flights etc before entering the UK. The 28 days before the visa expiring only relates to fiancée visa route FLRs and ILR on both fiancée and spousal visa. There is no problem doing what UKVI have suggested, we could have left ours a bit longer but I wanted to negate the new NHS charge
