There are hotel rooms in Liverpool that have unbroken furniture, chewing gum-free carpets and no graffiti? It wasn't so posh when I did my fire-fighting course there in the 60s. I'm amazed

Well, we got the first FLR(M) today much to my relief, I don't know why but I became very nervous for ten or fifteen minutes when I entered the UKVI office, after that I settled down to my usual people watching after that:)

I will do a separate thread on my experience later, its not as much alike to the Spouse visa as I initially thought, some additions some emissions.

Exactly Lisa, that's the first thing I said to the loved one when we stepped outside the office, a big sigh of relief for me.

I feel good now, I haven't for quite a while, you know what its like yourself Lisa, you're just blinkered into this whole visa application thing, nothing else matters or it can wait.

That's right and I can give my notice in tomorrow at work leaving a few weeks before I start a new job.

Only hiccup now, the loved ones passport has less than six months left on it before expiry so my idea of going abroad has gone out of the window but never mind :)

I was actually looking at this years calendar earlier tonight, the next one is in Dublin of all places on the 15th November. I wont have time to go to the Philippine Embassy in London for a few weeks unless the company I'm working for fires me off tomorrow and pays me up when I submit my notice but I doubt that will happen. When you go and apply for a new passport at the Embassy I think it takes a few weeks for them to process it anyway.

Oh its Norwich, got it mixed up with Dublin. Can you get a passport there and then and do you have to contact the Embassy first with your request then see them on the day?

    Yes.

In our case it was 6 weeks, I seem to remember.

You have to give them notice in advance. And then submit on the day. Then ours ( my wifes) took about 6 weeks.

You give them a stamped addressed registered delivery envelope.
