For me that's the only benefit of marrying in the Philippines then obtaining a spouse visa, money doesn't really come into it because you will have spent more than 1k on going to the Philippines to get married. You can of course apply for the NI card and start to work straight away here in the UK on a spouse visa.

Oh yeah I agree. It was just an add-on to your post to explain the difference.

And just think Lisa, wont be long before you yourself are in the FLR position, I have a good feeling about the outcome of your visa :)

Are you relaxed now or a little tense with all the waiting?

Timmers, I am a nervous wreck! I honestly thought we would have heard by now, because the last few here have been pretty quick. Will be 6 weeks next Wednesday, which is the date that 77% were done by, in August. The wait is really hard, especially when you're as anxious as me about the result :frust:

Remember that we only get a small snippet here at BF of the visa times but now you are around the same time as we waited for ours. Regarding visa times, you can only go off the information posted on the UKBA site.

Yes. There was one or two recently who waited 3 months. So yes, it can go to the wire.

Depends what you mean by recent.

Its important to know that over the course of time, the times vary enormously.

Thank you everyone, I will do an update on the FLR when we have it in our hand on Tuesday, just been doing the paperwork for it (should never have left it this late) and its taken a little longer than I thought, 6-7 hours covering the front room with papers for copying and the like, also there are one or two questions that are a little confusing but we battled through it.

Thanks Dave, always worries me when I get on a roll and things are going good, you always think there may be a car crash round the corner when life is going to well.

As I sit in a hotel room in Liverpool ready to submit our documents for the FLR at the UKVI office tomorrow :)
