Its good you have already inquired at the school, at least now they have put your mind at rest. As you know only too well, it is the youngster who is more likely than your wife to have problems as I'm sure we can all remember our schooldays and how kids can bully someone new to school especially if they are different to the majority of kids there.

Something to keep your eye on although I'm sure everything will be fine.

I would never advocate turning the other cheek completely and like you say you pick your moment if such is desired, glad to say in our village we have encountered no nonsense, and where my wife works she is treated as others are.

Never had such problems with the first (Filipina) wife and her two kids.

I think most people thought she was another child... and wondered what the hell I was doing tagging along. :D

I think our 15 years of marriage was around double the average length of such a union in the UK... and I had nothing to apologise for.
I was also given custody of our son.

    No more questions thanks. :)

It would be EXTREMELY easy for me to convince a large number of Filipino men to marry older western women..
But...Only if the latter has MONEY to lavish on them and more importantly, their family forever and ever ,till they both should live,

Last Sunday,I could hear some people shouting "Good morning" outside my house here in the back woods.. I went outside and there was a young attractive blonde woman from Scunthorpe with her much older English speaking Filipino husband there to deliver me a fresh copy of Watchtower magazine and an invite to their church..
Where I live, local carol singers cant find me on Xmas eve...
Jehovah witnesses though, could track me down to the ends of the earth and even if I lived on the damned moon it seems!!
That said..Really nice couple that were obviously very happy together and I certainly didn't mind speaking with them.

I know how to get rid of a Jehovah Witness and they never knock on my door! They won't knock on yours either - the trick - When they come to your door you say, "I am a disenfranchised member of the Jehovah Witnesses and I do not want to speak to an elder".

They will never come near your home again, nor post the Watchtower magazine.

In real life People are not allowed to leave the JWs and get shunned.

(I have never been a member of the sect, but had a friend who once was and he left - he and his wife gave me this advice) - it works!

their word is disfellowshipped. thats if a member does something "wrong" and breaks a watchtower rule. in my case--i resigned--.

i look forward to any of them knocking my door. its so easy to show they really dont know what they do believe....the watchtower changes its doctrines all too frequently. " new light" is their term for that.

the sad reality is--its a cult that imprisons its members through fear--and breaks up families.

Melody's family are all Jovo's. She walked away from them when her mother started telling her that she needed to be married to someone from within the church. She said that she would marry the man she fell in love with, and not because he went to a particular church. When I heard the story I knew that if she was strong enough to walk away from her family on a principle, and still be able to marry in white, I'd found a real diamond. I said she could contact them if she wanted to but she says it isn't important to her. I am her family now. Lucky me!

You know bigmac I find it difficult to believe that you were once a JW :), I always regarding them as harmless until I worked with a chap who had been converted, I had to work with him on a daily basis and found him extremely weird to say the least, almost a little frightening :)

    interesting comments Chris.
in the Filis--the JW cult is strong--over 100,000 members. my wife dated a JW lad when she was a youngster. she cant believe the things about it ive told her.

    like this:

my first wife---a jw from birth----and i divorced after 13 years of marriage. we had 3 kids. i had resigned from the cult 10 years before--just before my first child was born.

as the kids grew a bit older--about 4 years after we split--they "decided" they didnt want to see me anymore. this is because the cult practises shunning of ex-members. i fought this long and hard--but in they end--they won--and i moved on with my life.

my first born--my daughter--is now 46--married--with 4 girls of her own. they live 10 miles from me. i have NEVER met those 4 grandchildren !

    my 3rd--my younger son--is married--with at least 1 kid--i havent seen him in 30 years !

however--my older son--41 this month---was disfellowshipped from the cult a few years ago--i found out about this--and was able to contact him through facebook. he is now married again--has a 2 year old son--and is in regular contact with me. in fact--i'm visiting them tomorrow !

    but heres the real kicker.

because older son is disfellowshipped----his own mother shuns him !!!!! therefore she is unlikely to ever see his child--her grandson !

dont ever think of JW's as christians---by there actions they are anything but.

Any kind of religious/cult indroctrination of minors is 'child abuse' in my opinion.
