In the stage where it is still getting worse but it is slow to get worse, It feels like a stomach flu I'm getting loose bowels from it and a queasy stomach, some muscle pain tonight, I've had a lot worse in the past, but I would be a lot more alarmed right now if it had ramped up to a full flu like set of symptoms really quickly.

I have the luxury of knowing exactly where and when I got it, the first symptom was a burning sensation in my nose on Saturday about 24 hours after exposure so basically I am on day four that is a much quicker incubation period than was being suggested at anytime during the pandemic although Delta and Omicron are reckoned to have shorter incubation periods than the original Wuhan strain.

I know it was last Friday because I have not let my guard down at all before that, I am quite confident now that all the measures I have taken over the last 2 years 8 months have been working and were well warranted, I also think last year's booster vaccine has worn off a bit but I suspect I would be in a lot worse position if I had never had the vaccines and if I had not kept up my vitamin D regime.

Anyway we will see where it goes from here day 4 is still quite early.

Oh and positive test again today.

I meant to add my blood oxygen levels are pretty good at 99 although my pulse is consitently higher than it would be when sitting or lying on the couch normally I would be closer to 64 bpm.

Blood oxygen has dropped as low as 97 a few times, this tool is in my opinion an absolute must for Covid as if it ever drops below 94 for more than about 30 minutes it's time to head to A&E. Just don't measure freezin cold fingers as it will not be as accurate then.

Temperature fluctuates between this low 36.7 (only because I took it twice and the device itself is cold) and 37.2, I do feel hot but in reality I'm not showing any fever.

    Thanks Jim.

I'm eating normally and drinking plenty, this, so far, is much milder than the respiratory infection I had in January 2020 which I am still absolutely certain was not an example of early covid in the UK.

Slightly stronger positive test today third day positive.

Much more sneezing, a little bit of tinnitus but I get that with any kind of cold, slept well last night and the last few nights.

My eldest daughter had a similarly strong positive test around her third day as well a few months ago.

I'm keeping the windows open in order to try reduce the amount of virus I am rebreathing, it was just a thought don't know if it will make a difference.

Had my autumn booster yesterday, no problems for the rest of the day, woke up this morning the vaccination area is a little sore but I can live with that, The chemist I chose luckily for me uses the Pfizer booster vaccine whereas the other chemist 2 doors down has the Moderna booster and the 3 people that I know that have had the moderna booster have had various reactions to the Moderna ranging from very sore in the vaccine area to aching in the whole shoulder to my wife having soreness around the vaccine area and feeling sh* te the next day so much so that she said she is reluctant to have another Covid vaccine, anyways onwards and upwards.

I am hoping I get the Moderna after I get over this in a couple of months maybe before I travel to the Phils, the original Moderna vaccine was more effective at keeping antibody level higher for longer and I was pleased to get that last year as a booster.

I was supposed to get my booster and flu vaccine tomorrow :(

Todays test on the right, fifth positive test in a row, day 7 since actual infection.

Yesterday and today have been the strongest positive results yet but I would say I am over it at this point and on the mend, Wednesday was the least pleasant day but overall so far it has been a mild stomach flu for me, still have an itchy wet cough, blood oxygen is 1 point lower than it would normally be at 98 so there is some very small amount of lung damage and I really should not get over confident a friend of a very good friend of mine died at the start of September in the middle of very mild Covid symptoms, but I do feel pretty good now.

    Thanks Jim.

One thing, both your experience and mine shows that following our diet alone will not make covid bounce off you, I think it certainly helped but it didn't strengthen our immune systems so far that we could not get infected.

Also the virus that was circulating in Jan 2020 which a lot of people here in the UK caught including me I am still certain was not really early incidence of covid, I think it was an HCov coronavirus but not SARS-Cov-2 and I think some people got some cross immunity from that infection which accounted for at least some of the later asymptomatic SARS-Cov-2 cases.

My appetite has been fine I continued eating the same amount as I do every day, I never had a fever the highest reading I got was Wednesday night at 37.4 for an hour or so however I have slipped back into ketosis nicely after the alcohol and the food at the funeral wore off, I'm about 2.5kg down on last Friday.

I've been experimenting with food and alcohol to see what can affect my weight, after the Philippines I gained a bit but I had expected that but it was mostly glycogen stores (ultimately water), I have found that alcohol takes about 2 days to show on the scales, very dry white wine has the lowest effect but it does still hit my weight, I've switched to a Brut Cava if I have wine, beer has a much more rapid effect and can add 3 pounds of water retention in the space of a weekend, it take me about 3 days to get back into ketosis, I am measuring with urine test strips.

I'm currently back on zero alcohol and I'm going to stay that way as I really don't like the after effects at all these days, it's not worth it.

I just drink diet coke and rum. no the diet won't stop covid-19. My weight has stalled, been drinking bullet-proof coffee with MCT oil for a week and IF 18-6 but still no weight loss.

    • The BBC has come under fire from scientists for interviewing a cardiologist who claimed certain Covid vaccines could be behind excess deaths from coronary artery disease.

Experts have criticised Dr Aseem Malhotra’s(remember the name lol) appearance on the corporation’s news channel on Friday, accusing him of pushing “extreme fringe” views, which are “misguided”, “dangerous” and could mislead the public.

Scientists have described the doctor as “hijacking” an interview on statins to air his views, causing BBC staff to be “alarmed and embarrassed” by their booking
