    Hi guys!

I'm sorry to bother you all. I know I'm being paranoid for the past few days and the result is I made a mistake completing the online application and the sad bit is i cannot edit the application as is already been submitted. Part 3 of the online application under Spouse/Partner section, instead of putting my wife's details I mistakenly put mine as I'm really paranoid and my mind is nowhere but to be found. I know is not an excuse and I could have check it again before submitting it. But there we go mistakes have been done. I believed you can request for a refund and the application will automatically get cancelled and start a new application again. I'm aware that they will return the payments after 28working days. Do you think I can counter sign the mistake and write on the form the correct input or do you think the ECO will take it as a big deal or shall we go for refund and start all over again? Any advice is highly appreciated.

Btw, 6 entries I made mistakes and they are:
    Given Name:
    Family Name:
    Birthday:
    Passport number:
    Nationality:

Don't beat yourself up over this Arnold, we all make mistakes.

If I was in your position I would contact the VFS in Manila tomorrow and ask them if you could submit an amended copy of your online form, it is worth doing this before you apply for the refund. Check the VFS website for information on contacting them.

Remember, you will not be the first person who has made this mistake, the VFS should be able to advise you on the best way for you to proceed, at least by talking to them you will have explored every option open to you.

    I wish you luck Arnold

I agree with @Timmers. It would be better to contact VFS or UKVI on this. They can surely help and give you advise on how to proceed.

I would like to think that Christmas has arrived in the VFS office and they will be forthcoming with your request, to me it is a very reasonable request where a genuine mistake was made.

I will feel very happy myself if the VFS accommodates you because I know how hard you have been working to put the visa application together.

May be worth looking at applying again straight away and hope you can get the refund before the initial visa/IHS payment appears on your credit card statement.

Double, treble, quadruple check the form before you hit the submit button this time :)

Maybe you and your wife could fill out the application forms together. That's what my partner and I did when we were putting the entries in the form. We were talking on facetime while I was filling out, then I gave her my log ins in my account in the uk visa so she can check the forms before I submit them.

And by the way I asked for refund too. I initially applied for a proposed civil partnership but later cancelled it and applied again but this time for settlement marriage. Hope we get our refund asap. God bless!

Tbh everything is fine only that part I made mistakes. But there we go! we have to deal with it. My wife is always busy and didn't have much time to sit in front of the computer as she work 2 jobs in a day. How did you do the refund for the visa fee btw before we proceed. I think that's the easiest way for us to correct this mistakes.

I used debit card and after receiving the payment confirmation the payment automatically appears in my account. Does that make any difference when I request for a refund?

I think I've got that one screen shot too. Can I put this reason?

Mistakenly input the wrong information on part 3 of the application under Spouse/Partner. Instead of putting my wife's details I mistakenly put mine

Unfortunately using a debit card means the money will come directly out of your account and you will have to wait for the refund. You could re-apply straight away if you have the funds available alternatively your wife could pay for the new application using a UK credit card as I did with my wife's application, I just signed into her VFS account and paid the visa fee.

I think I've got enough in my debit card to pay for the IHS again. Is it ok if I use the same card? I don't mind waiting for the refund as long as they return the money. Haha

Yes, you can put that. It's very straightforward so they'll understand it easily.

On the screen shot of the procedure you shared to me I just noticed what itsays on number 8. Is the request of refund for ihs and visa fee in one? Does that mean I need to mention on the box where my reason for refund is that ihs needsto be refunded as well or ihs refund is a different procedure?

Yeah, I guess it's the same process/procedure. You have to indicate in that comment box both the ihs fee and the visa fee that you want to be refunded. To be honest,We didnt pay for ihs yet since we just applied for a fiance visa.

However, after I requested for a refund I didnt receive any email confirmation. I already sent an email about this just waiting for their reply. Let me know if you receive any after you submit your request.

If you pay by credit card your refund may be almost with you by the time you need to pay the bill.
