I am an accountant by profession so think about it! And before I argue and defend someone? I don’t just listen to hearsay and never believed what other people say over what I experienced. Most of all, I won’t fight for a country whom I don’t even know or experienced living there. I have been in many countries but never once argue or defend them as I am not origin from those countries. But I will defend my own county and share my knowledge and experience. FYI! Since Marcos Sr. is gone and when I was 18 y/o and was ready to vote, do you think I ever voted for anyone after Marcos Sr.? NEVER! The country become unsafe and dangerous when Marcos Sr. is gone! So once again, think about it before you defend country which is you’re NOT origin from. :frust:
Don’t get me wrong I love Duterte too! but when he ran, I am no longer able to vote due to changed citizenship.

Another thing, Duterte has tried to clean up the bloody drugs in the country but he is working alone as the bloody Vice President has always been against him all along during his terms. So it’s about time this Marcos Jr and Sarah Duterte leads the country, give them chance and you will see the difference! I am confident how good is this tandem! Wait and see and later on, you foreigners will say, Philippines is now safe to visit as it’s no longer dangerous as it was when the drug addictions is a big problem.

You should have done your study! It’s not all about maths it’s about common sense! Come on! Don’t tell me you can’t even work it out? 31,104,175 MILLIONS! Jesus! How many family can produce those children within 36 years? If they claims most voters are born from 1986? With the present 112,293,283 and still counting in which there are some who are under 18 years old, who aren’t yet ready or allowed to vote? o_O Think about it!

Davao is proudly the most part of the Philippines which is safe to visit! And indeed, you went to the right part of the Philippines! Duterte is the second President I respect after Marcos Sr. NO ONE else! And I am pretty sure, Marcos Jr. will continue his father’s legacy and way of running the country! Plus Sarah Duterte as a Vice President? At least her father’s intention to clean the bad reputation of the Philippines will happen. Rodrigo Duterte couldn’t do it alone (blessed him!) especially with his nuisance Vice President? Who is always against his plan? So stupid!

When I lived there it was like dodge city, shootings, grenades in the airport, it calmed down when I left, I think parts of Manila and sulu&jolo have a rep for the most dangerous parts of pinas nowadays.

Mystica, you have the same political views my wife has. She voted for BBM-SARA and has a lot of praise for Marcos senior. A lot of foreigners over here dislike Marcos snr because of the media hype, they read crap media made up stories.

Blessed her! I am glad to hear your wife is BBM-SARA too!
And she is correct! Those allegations are mainly baseless accusations and most definitely fabricated stories! Foreigners should know their positions and they should not even get involved with it, because it is not their own land and they were not a FILIPINO citizens. We Filipino had spoken and had enough of the previous administrations after Marcos Sr. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! Foreigners should respect what we want our own land to become!

Only you I heard who says that! Most Davao-wenio (People living in Davao) are very proud of Davao and most foreigners I knew who has been in Davao are happy about feeling safe visiting Davao. Duterte drive around with his motorbike doing his roaming when he has time when he was a Mayor at the time, and no one dares to disturb his home town.

I myself do not feel safe visiting Philippines in the past previous administrations. But I am confident with the new administrations that they will make Philippines safe to visit again! Don’t get me wrong After Marcos Sr. I love Duterte too but although he has done his best and full efforts, if the bloody Vice President has always been contradict to all his plan to run the country, you can expect the chaos. How stupid is that VP to go against her President? She is definitely one of the biggest joke who has sat and put into power and has done nothing but to contradict her President. It should be a team work! For God sake!

And it calmed down after you left??? :erm:

You have written this several times and I disagree 100%.

On a message board which is mostly non-Filipino citizens, people can discuss and share views about whatever they please. Naturally, things will focus on UK/Philippines issues, but if we wanted to share our views about social issues in the USA, China or Mozambique, we are entitled to do that.

If we took our passports and actually went campaigning in the Philippines, I'd agree with you that this is not our business and we are overstepping the line.

Of course YOU are entitled to your own opinion I agree! but I would stand correct! And I don’t care if I have to say it over and over again! It will remain the same! YOU ARE NOT A FILIPINO! Therefore, it is 100 % that I will never agree with you neither when it comes to negative opinion about Philippines President! So those “FOREIGNERS” who wants to get involved, they can go to hell for all I care! I definitely don’t get involve in any argument with other countries I’ve been with, it is none of my business! I share thoughts but never ever defend anyone else but my home land… The game is over! BBM-SARA WON! End the story!

Foreigners in the Ph are not allowed to vote, go to political rallies or anything to do with politics. Could end up in a over crowded jail waiting for your sentence which could be years.
I kept well away from these rallies, wife went on them red and green, she looked like one of Santa's little helpers :D

It's actually Dabawenyo (imagine a FOREIGNER having to teach a pinay that :D) when I lived in Davao there wasn't so many westerners as now as it had a bad rep, people were scared to go, do a websearch, the grenades were thrown in the old airport, lots of murders back then.

This is really bizarre. You are being so defensive it is becoming a comedy sketch.

Are the opinions of the millions of Filipinos who voted for other candidates invalid? Their reasoning isn't too dissimilar in that they have bad memories of martial law and questions about how the Marcos clan acquired billions of dollars.

And again, this thing about "YOU'RE NOT A FILIPINO, YOUR VIEW IS NOT WANTED" is typical of what comes from a dictatorship. In the UK, are we allowed to tell all the non-British residents that their views do not matter? When people have extended family and send economic support to the Philippines, they're entitled to have an opinion.
