Did I say anything negative about ladyboys...or prostitutes ? Please don't lay your hangups and crusading on me. ...And after visiting and living in the Philippines for the past 25 years, I think I know how things work there thanks.
I think someone must have misread Grahams post criticized here... Please try to read it again as it appears to me that no offence, insult or malice was intented. Inferred. But just a friendly warning to sift through to find the gem in the rough.
Frankly, given the above, I can understand why @PaddyJoh was upset, and I happen to agree that the term 'ladyboy' carries negative connotations. However, its possible that @graham59 wasn't intending to be offensive. I do agree that there are a number of dishonest people in the Phils but also that there are a number of nice and honest people. As for this... since you are someone who routinely 'likes' remarks that are directed against my point of view, I was merely returning the favour. However, I know from your earlier posts that you claim not to be petty so I'm sure that you don't mind.
Did you need to say anything negative? I think your statement says it all ... Oh and well done on the 25 years that makes you THINK you know how things work there
Graham in the context of internet pitfalls I agree that there are Ladyboys misrepresenting themselves however in the light of Paddy,s recent disappointment you might have chosen to not react as an act of empathy (no personal attack intended)
I beg to differ unless your sure what Im thinking lol I will wait for Paddy to answer before saying more
So, unless he moves to some Euriopean country for a wee while, he cannot rely on dual nationality at all.
thats correct Dom , Paddy could however renounce his British Citizenship and then take advantage of European Law to bring his partner here as an Irish Citizen
Correct me if I'm mistaken, but does it mean that Surindher Singh route is no longer a viable option?
Yup "A person who held dual British/EEA citizenship, and who has renounced their British citizenship, will be considered an EEA national for the purposed of the Immigration (European Economic Area) Regulations 2006 (as amended). A person who has brought themselves within the definition of EEA national under regulation 2 by renouncing their British citizenship will be in the same position as an EEA national who has never held British citizenship. The decision of a dual national to renounce their British citizenship is a personal matter for that individual and is not something the Home Office takes a view on. This is the case regardless of the individual’s reasons for renouncing their citizenship. I can confirm that applications from a former dual British/EEA citizen, or from their family members, would be treated no differently to applications from other EEA nationals or their family members. Yours sincerely, European Policy Team Home Office" https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/renunciation_of_british_citizens_5
There has been a lot of talk about drink here recently and now that the blur of a gallon of Buckfast has worn off I would like to apologize to everyone if I seemed a tad touchy .. perhaps I did jump the gun on a small issue that is close to my heart .. I'm usually not so argumentative but the refusal has affected me and Joh massively, I am not here to make enemies and I can see that @graham59 had no malintent .. sorry folks .. phew! Move on!
