Leni denies Plan B, says it’s Marcos who has presidential ambitions

Leading vice presidential candidate Camarines Sur Rep. Leni Robredo on Tuesday mocked rival Senator Bongbong Marcos' claims that the administration is executing a fallback plan of cheating the polls.

In an interview in 24 Oras, Robredo belied Marcos' allegations that the Liberal Party had plans of ousting presumptive president-elect Rodrigo Duterte through impeachment.

Under the alleged Plan B, the administration is moving for the proclamation of Robredo as vice president so she could take over as constitutional successor if Duterte is impeached.

"Siya yung may ambisyong maging presidente. Ako, wala naman," Robredo said.

She added that after a divisive election, an impeachment is far from what the country needs.

"Hindi yun makakabuti sa atin...ang dami nating kailangan gawin," she said.

If elected vice president, Robredo said she would uniting and healing the country.

She also assured she will back Duterte, saying that the winning presidential candidate can count on her support.

"Ako palagay ko magiging maayos naman yung relationship namin. Si Mayor Duterte, matagal na matagal nang mayor ng Davao, eh yung asawa ko matagal nang mayor ng Naga. Kung baga alam ko yung pinanggagalingan, alam ko yung point of view," Robredo said.

"Yung level of commitment na kaya kong ibigay sa aking partner, that's the same level of commitment na ibibigay ko kung sino mang manalo ng pangulo...yung aking pong 100% na commitment at cooperation maasahan niya sa akin," she added. —Jessica Bartolome/NB, GMA News

Cayetano has conceded to Robredo.

If I was Duterte I would be much more worried about having Marcos as VP, one bullet away from the Presidency, knowing as we all do that there are some die hard Marcos loyalists still in the Armed Forces, than I would be by the idea that Robredo might, perhaps, in the event of a successful impeachment, step up to the Presidency.
