    Seen the Senate results?

    * = Vogon

OK, seriously, this could be important:

    Drilon
    Villanueva
    Sotto*
    Lacson
    Gordon
    Zubiri
    Pacquiao*

    Hontiveros
    Pangalinan
    Gatchalian
    Recto
    de Lima

Dont hold your breath waiting for Manny Pacquiao to turn up, but its good that Leila de Lima got in.

Names in italics are likely to support Duterte. Including Pacquiao if he turns up.

I got a few of those pinned to my suit at the wedding. That went a long way towards paying for all the grub that got scoffed***

I asked the wife why she speaks Taglish with her mother, sisters and kids so much, she says its because they have spent so much time out of the Philippines that it is now easier to converse in English than Tagalog.

It bugs me a little because when she is Skyping and talking in English I can ease drop and get to know what's going on then she all of a sudden she veers off in Tagalog leaving me out of the loop :)

I notice with some interest that Leni Robredo seems to speak in public in Tagalog, not Taglish or English. This I think is her background as a community organiser coming out. Needless to say I hope she wins.

K speaks Bisaya and sometimes Ilonggo with her family. I would not have a hope! But I usually get a run down of the day's events!

If her brother in law and I drop into broad Yorkshire and Suffolk, we can achieve the same results!

That's a good idea, I'm going to suggest to the wife that we should have a weekly debriefing to keep me up to speed with her families goings on :)

I suspect a rather crucial spelling mistake relating to your friend's identity ;)

That aside, I do agree that Duterte's campaign has been citizen-driven rather than professional-pollster led; no Lynton Crosby in Duterte's team. However because of that, I dispute the article's premise that "Duterte hacked the Internet". He didn't, his team didn't but his common-or-garden-supporters did use social media and other means to spread the word and recruit others to their cause. They made good use of modern technology.

And yet, look at the number of Facebook followers accorded to each of the Presidential candidates. If each candidate's follower numbers were reflective of their future electoral success, then Miriam would be the President Elect with Roxas and Duterte coming last and last-but-one respectively.

The name of the lady in question - who does sometimes use a pseudonym - is nowhere to be seen in the article.

Thank you for clarifying the authorship. Perhaps the use of the non-gender-specific "filipino" would be less confusing? ;)

I did not say that Sylvia wrote it; I said that she posted it to her FB page.

From what I have been reading just lately there is gonna be a problem with the "results"..
Some Data Analysts are saying that the charts that deal with the Vice president race have most probably been "manipulated",although other mathematical analysts may disagree.
Miriam Defensor seems to be saying something similar..Marcos has suggested that its about the Establishments "Plan B"..He suggests that this plan involves installing a Liberal as V.P before impeachment proceedings...VP becomes President.
    There may be trouble ahead!
