Special day here in the Phils, Going to take asawa ko. for a Valentines meal at a new restaurant facing the sea.
ive been spoiling her this morning--serviced the dyson. full of long black hair--wish it was mine. i took it further apart than just the filters--not long changed them. had a devil of a job getting it apart--the plastic seemed to be fused together. Full of very fine dust in the tubes--most of it in my lungs now. Somehow got it back together and working. I think its time she bought a new one.
Hahaha, I laugh at your lack of vacuum cleaner knowledge, Dyson are old fashioned, those black hairs? Er indoors bought me a shark https://sharkclean.co.uk/anti-hair-wrap-technology-cms-page.technology.antihairwrap
had the dyson from new--must be 20 years +. dropped it down a bare hardwood staircase 10 years ago--it bounced all the way down. not a mark on it.
Shark certainly make some nice vacuum cleaners. However I'm not sure who should be laughing at the lack of knowledge.. I believe Dyson tend to be more expensive and have better suction. Specifically, AFAIK Dyson makes the most powerful cordless vacuum on the market... Dyson were the first to create the bagless system... And finally....I personally prefer to support a British brand such as Dyson over a US import. I suppose its what floats your boat. If you want your vacuum cleaner to play tunes and have led lights on it then shark is a fine choice. If you want it to have the best suction on the market - which I personally reckon is the primary job of a vacuum cleaner then Dyson performs better according to the reviews I've read. But certainly probably not as good value for money. So.. Like bigmac.. Dyson for me. We have three Dyson models and have no plans to make any changes.
Dyson are made in Asia, however my chortle was due to the anti hair wrap function of the shark, designed by a gentleman obviously married to a long haired lady and the last vacuum cleaner I bought was two weeks ago in Walmart, yup, a shark (didn't buy it in person, I am still in UK).
Apple phones are made in Asia. Many things are. Perhaps even many parts of shark vacuum cleaners are for all I know. I'm not sure it's really relevant.. Is it? James Dyson is British and Dyson limited is a British company as far as I know. Or am I mistaken about that?
Nope, you ain't mistaken, I haven't any apple products, but I do think shark are better, however if I were to buy Er indoors a hoover as a gift I would be garrotted with the cord unless it was cordless.
laugh. I agree with you on the danger of buying one as a gift and not simply a necessity. Strange that it's OK to buy a man a shop vac for his workshop but it's out of bounds to buy a woman a vacuum cleaner. Scratch that one off the valentines day list. After spending 400 quid today on the probably the worst value day out ever (bloody biometrics for visa) in the snow and freezing cold I almost wish I had gone vacuum cleaner shopping. Would have been more fun.
I am going to have to go down the spouse visa route for myself one day as in I will need the visa, but when I got married in Hong Kong it was cheap and straightforward, those were the days
My wife and I were married in the Philippines in 2015 because it was easier. Her and the two girls (her daughters and my stepdaughters) applied for the 2.5 year spouse visa then, and she's been here ever since. The flr was in 2018 and now it's finally ilr time. Total cost about 20, 000 pounds and thousands of pages of paper. Ridiculous. Even after they get ILR there's still another 1600 quid per person to apply for naturalisation. Sigh.
I got married '93,based in Honkers so very easy, hardly cost anything to be honest, admin fees were cheap, the good old days
Im an ex Dyson employee, Mould Shop until he moved the manufacturing department to Malaysia, Dyson make expensive but top of the range products and i can only reccomend most of what they produce, brought my missus the Dyson airwrap https://www.dyson.co.uk/hair-care last year yet another excelent product, we are currently in the process of deciding which vacuum to buy next, however if you want to buy from another British company then may i suggest you take a look at this company based in Worcester https://www.gtech.co.uk/ Im getting good reports about them..
men arent supposed to know about vacuum cleaners..but i suspect if left to our wives we would be buying new every time they got full up.
I have a theoretical knowledge how to drive a vacuum cleaner round the room but I much prefer to just buy them and leave them be.
Reminds me that I have to clean the bathroom plug hole out every three months. Horrible job, Long black hair. A dead giveaway in our house.
Not sure how this topic ended up talking about vacuum cleaners, but it gives me an ideal opportunity to mention that my uncle/godfather used to work with James Dyson at a company calked Rotork in Bath.
