Recommendation is to apply within 28 days before visa expires. Your status remains the same from submission date until the visa decision is made. So long as apply before expiry, visa status remains current. If applying normally without any priority then will almost certainly get decision after the current visa expiry date.

Hi everyone! Im an old returning member. This site has been so helpful to me when i was applying for LR. Now i would need your advices again as im due to apply for my FLR M. One of my main concern is our financial requirement. I just started a new job this April. A salaried employment of £18000 pa. My husband however has been furloughed then he found a new job this June, not salary, and just part time. Our minimum income requirement is 22400 as we have a dependent child to apply for as well. Our circumstances is a bit complicated. I read the guidance and to my understanding, in our case, we need a 12 month worth of payslip that shows we meet the income requirement. If my understanding is right, in this way we can meet our income requirement.
please enlighten me if you think i understood or not the guidance right. Thanks so much in advance!

First question is regarding the dependent child. Is the child British due to being born here and your husband being British. If the child is British then does not need visa application and does not have the higher income requirement.

Have a read of link below and see if it applies to your circumstances. Suspect it may as you refer to your husband being furloghed. May also solve your problem.

Changes to the minimum income and adequate maintenance requirement
If you’ve experienced a loss of income due to coronavirus, we will consider employment income for the period immediately before the loss of income due to coronavirus, provided the requirement was met for at least 6 months up to March 2020.

If your salary has reduced because you’re furloughed, we will take account of your income as though you’re earning 100% of your salary.

If you’re self-employed, a loss of annual income due to coronavirus between 1 March 2020 and 31 July 2020 will generally be disregarded, along with the impact on employment income from the same period for future applications.

ive completely lost track of all the changes over the last couple of years. it would be very helpful to all still on the 5 year route if a definitive up to date list of places, services and costs could be complied by those with the latest facts at their fingertips. Then maybe admin could make it sticky or whatever the internet word is.

You won’t need to visit to upload, We couldn’t book to do biometrics because of no availablity but was given a link that we may not need to give biometrics again if the last ones we gave are still okay. I will try find the link.

When you fill in the online application it will give you a list of all documents you require at the end of the application so you will know what is required before you submit and pay your application so worth starting early so you know what you require
