Hello Mike. Just want to welcome you here in British Filipino.

Can't give you advice about annulment but hopefully someone will. :)

Hi Mike and welcome to BF. Can you be more specific about the problems you're having, others may well be able to assist.

i'm in the same boat. so far its cost me £2000 in legal "fees"-----and 14 months of wasted time. and there is no end in site.

a piece of belated advice i was given on another forum long before my partner applied---------was never get involved with a married filipina.
i thought it was very cynical at the time----but now i truly see the point.

Thanks for your replies every one.
Vernie is coming to England next week for 5 months on a holiday visa. We want to get married so she can live permanently in the UK. We are getting so many conflicting stories about annulments...we don't know who to trust.

visitor visas are difficult to obtain--she must have shown compelling reasons to return home. kids perhaps ?

Yes she has got kids...but the visitor visa didnt seem difficult to get.
Some solicitors say they can definitely get you a visa in 6 months for 250K.
Others are saying at least 1 to 2 years and you will probably get turned down by the judge after that in most cases....and they still want 250K

    Sorry I meant to say:
Some solicitors say they can definitely get you a permanent visa in 6 months for 250K.
Others are saying at least 1 to 2 years and you will probably get turned down by the judge after that in most cases....and they still want 250K

Yes we have had a holiday together and been together using Skype for about 4 months.
I would never pay all upfront. So do more money means they are using brides?

Do you mean an annulment? You wouldn't need a solicitor to get a visa.

i think the term is--"assisstance fee" and you WILL pay upfront--its the way it is

i dont know what they mean by can definitely get you a permanent visa in 6 months for 250K.------i think you mean an annulment.

well done in getting a visit visa---do i presume shes coming over on her own ?---if yes--then--if i were you--i would have a great time together--then see how you feel about going for an annulment at the end of it......thats what i did

There's no such thing as a permanent visa. Be wary of what advice you are getting.

we all have days like that. just fire any questions here---none of us are getting paid so any advice is impartial--even if confusing at times.

I have a sister in law who got an annulment from her first husband.

The circumstances were very Filipina. He drugged and raped her and she became pregnant. She married him solely to ensure that the child was legitimate, then proceeded to an annulment.
