One of the heart stopping moments of our application was in relation to the dispatch of the paperwork to the Mrs. My wife had given me her address of course, which I duly gave to the carrier, TNT. It is or was Dasmarinas Cavite 4112. Upon following track and trace I noticed that the parcel had reached some central hub in Germany or the like. And then was forwarded on to Maragondon, Cavite which I took to be another hub in Cavite. But I eventually realised that wasn't the case as I entered into dialogue with TNT. The parcel took 2 days actually and was out in the van on its way to Maragondon when the penny dropped that the zip code was wrong. The zip code was right for Maragondon but wrong for Dasmarinas. So I had to tell them it was Dasmarinas 4114 Cavite. Fortunately it arrived at my wife's address on the 3rd day. She swore blind it was the correct zip code she had given me. They had always used it successfully in the past.
My wife is 3 months pregnant, so left her cash on a caxton prepaid card.... She doesn't like to take it and always asks me if she can withdraw some when she has to buy medicine... I keep telling her just take it and tell me later, but she won't. Going to do DHL online.... not sure how I do it yet, but will learn.
I've had no problem sending to the service centre in SM north wing Cebu. In fact I wouldn't send to a private address. If I sent to a private address it would take longer to deliver 3 miles from the airport than it took to send the package from UK to PI, seriously. I'd constantly have to chase them. In the end the only reliable option was the service centre. The staples staff never queried it for me. Unfortunately our local Staples don't' offer the service.
Yea does sound like it. Not sure what they gain from that. I mean you've paid your money so don't' matter where it goes
She flew KLM. I flew to Schipol, Amsterdam and met her as she stepped off the flight. Then we both flew to Manchester together.
Sorry John - you did tell me that before!! How did everyone find out the visa was approved? (5 days waiting now )
LOL. While we were waiting for our result I tended to plan ahead on the basis of an assumed successful application while Mrs Ash would have none of that until we knew the result. Presumably you are doing the same Steve, ie thinking of flights?
In my head its already booked Already check out flight times and arrivals, pre-warned my boss I might need a day off, money allocated - enough to cover a business class ticket if I want. I've already planned the route home, the decorations for the house and the first dozen or more weekends out
Is this a typical filipina or just mine - she says when she gets here on the way home from the airport (<1hour) can we stop and get something to eat?
When I met my wife at Schipol we went for someting to eat before boarding the flight to Manchester. Upon arrival we cleared UkK Immigration together and then stayed overnight in Manchester so that we could go clothes shopping at the Trafford Centre ( she arrived 1st October ). I had previously suggested to her to bring all of her jeans and less of her shorts etc, so that we could then concentrate on winter shoes, a jacket and dressing gown etc. Then flew on to Isle of Man on the 2nd day.
Still nothing I tried the email service for making enquiries about the application and they said they had received it but it still hadn't been seen by an ECO, they hope to look at in in the next 10 working days - seemed like a pretty standard letter, finding it hard not to email them every day
