Visa applied for on 12th August, heres hoping for a result next week Do you have all the relevant documents? It took us nearly a year to get everything together that we needed for our application and you will certainly have problems getting a visa if you don't have everything. You will need to apply for the english test soon if you want to apply in October, when I applied there was a 3-4week waiting list. I made the application online - I don't know if you can doo that is your spouse/fiance British? Anyway the online application is the same as the VAF4A form but even online you still have to fill out appendix 2 on paper and take that along to your VFS appointment. Appendix 2 has a lot of details regarding your partners finances so you might find it easier to let him fill it out and send it to you to sign and hand in - there are a lot of questions on there it will take some time to fill out!

I already have booked my english test. The test will be on October 2, booked it through IDP since british council is already full for the month of October. I am now filling out the VAF4A form. One quick question.... In 7.22 the question 'Is your sponsor currently living in the UK?' If yes pls provide the date of when he/she arrived in the UK. He has lived in the UK all his life. He visits me in the Philippines on holidays. What date should I include in the details? The date of arrival in the UK from his visit in the Phil?
If I remember correctly I just put my birth date for this question since I have always lived in UK, they didn't question it.
Hi stevepqr and Timmers Thanks for giving me an idea. Also, can anyone tell me how to compute salaried employment if the sponsor is paid on weekly basis? He has 2jobs at the moment because he wants come up with the 18,600 income requirement. He gets paid on weekly basis for both jobs. He's making 400/week for both jobs, the thing is for the first 2weeks he's earning low. I can show 24pay slips to complete the 6months requirement.
According to Kuya, Category B is for those with 2 incomes. If his combined income comes to £9300 over 6 months, or more, then that should do it. What do the 24 payslips add up to? BTW, shouldnt it be 26 payslips for 6 months? But at 400 each per week per job, that should do it!
He started his job May13. I do not have all his pay slips yet because he will send it all to me towards the end of October. I assumed they need 24weeks pay slips to make up the 6months requirement. From May13-July13 (8weeks) he earned about 3,300.28.
I am answering the Financial Requirement Form and the questions are very tricky especially part 3A. Can anyone help me pls? We have waited 14months for him to have a salaried job earning 18,600. He worked with other security company and NHS(part time) before but since he wasn't earning enough to satisfy the income threshold he quit and applied for other jobs. Luckily he got hired May this year as a security in a resort working 10-12hrs 5days a week and during the weekends he does security again in another company. He's got 2jobs at the moment, doing everything he can to meet the income threshold. He gets paid on weekly basis for both jobs. If it falls under Category B which for those with 2jobs how will it be computed? In Annex FM1.7 Category B salaried and non-salaried employment are calculated differently. Salaried employment- the level of gross annual salary will be as at the date of application which must be evidenced by the latest payslip. Non-Salaried employment - the level of gross annual employment income relied upon in the application can be no greater than the annual equivalent of the person's average gross monthly income from non-salaried employment in the 6months prior to the date of application. Non-salaried can be computed: (undertaken during 6month period, divided by 6) multiplied by 12 = income from non-salaried employment that can be counted towards the financial requirement. It was mentioned that non-salaried employment includes that paid at an hourly or other re (and the number and/or pattern of hours required to be worked may vary) or paid an amount which varies according to the work undertaken. Does his employment falls under salaried or non-salaried?
So, after submitting the new test results from Pearson as requested we hear nothing! After several emails and phone calls, last Friday we finally get a one line reply after 2 week "your test result has been received, we will contact you when we need to" - that told me! Then this morning, another email "Your visa will be despatched shortly. Passports can be collected from the Visa Application Centre after 3 working days unless advised, it will be returned by courier or have paid an additional courier fee" YAYYYY!!!!!
