Yep, I read some info he sent me earlier. That's great for Singh. I don't want to do Singh, it would be easier to give up nationality, and I have got my head round that. A good plan C. But it's the pre-Visa route I am trying to sort first.

Thanks. So this super duper version, if I don't marry in church, you reckon it wont' take that long?

Bear in mind, I am ALWAYS assuming the worst that can go wrong - you've probably worked that out from my posts already :p

Well, it did not in 2011. And others have since confirmed it more recently. Yes, you have to wait longer for the full NSO version if married in church and yes, the UKVI seem to expect it.

Get your partner to check that.

Nothing wrong with assuming the worst Andy, that's the way to be when you are up against the relatively unknown.

Phew, that's a bit of a relief. Of course, the UKVI would have to be their diligent selves :p

    I will, cheers.

Here's another thing: do foreign documents, such as the birth certificate, have to be apostilled to be accepted by the registry office, and by the embassies?

Yes, there is a bit of that.

In my case I had all my bank statements signed by the bank as they were not originals. But managed to avoid signed photocopies of my passport as we submitted my actual birth certificate.

However. No need to have original docs signed / certified, for the UKVI.

After the Marriage we took the form to the Area registrar and asked for an express NSO service took a week or so and very cheap once they have it on the system you can order half a dozen for later Birth certs also (as long as the birth was registered) can be ordered in bulk worth checking before you go!!! Andy I recently posted some links on BigMacks thread regarding my experience back in 2011 with the marriage process in the Fils Post 9 http://www.british-filipino.com/index.php?threads/marriage-in-the-philppines.10637/#post-78963

No Idea about the Irish requirements not being of that persuasion myself lol
