Hi peeps, Im getting married in Jan 2016 in the philippines and I thought that i need to start organising or prepare for the big day. Ive done abit of research on applying for the marriage licence etc and Im looking for some advice from knowledgable peeps like yourselves to see if ive missed anything out. I really like to be prepared and I mean Prepared with a capital P, and Im more concerned of the legality of it all . We decided on a venue in Molave, Tambulig and its going to be a Civil wedding . My workplace has given me 6 weeks vacation , so we have plenty of time to decorate venue ,my fiance is in planning mode at this very moment for give aways and talking to aunties about flowers etc . So im not worried about venue or things like that im more worried about the application of the marriage licence etc. I dont want to turn up and forget something fundamentally important, So I created a checklist and I need to know if I've forgotten anything??
    CHECKLIST

    1. 6 months prior book appointment with british embassy in philippines.
    2. go to appointment with checklist of documents signed and copy of email of appointment
    * Affirmation or affidavit of marital status ( template on website use romans 12 point with 1.5 margin)
    *Passport
    *Copy of passport photo Page
    *Birth Cert
    *Copy of Birth Cert
*Confirmation of appointment from Embassy (email)

For the lady ( get copies of all documents)
    * NSO Birth Cert
    *NSO Cenomar
    * Passport ( copy of photo page )
    * Cedula ( community tax cert)
    * Barangay Clearance??? ( not sure about this one )

    3. With all documents apply for marriage licence
    4. Wait 10-14 days to receive Marriage licence.

This is how far my research has gone and now im just speculating
    5. Book pre wedding seminar with Local civil registry .Maybe we could check schedule prior and book a place, attend the meeting obtaining cert afterwards .
6 . write letter to LCR to ask official to solemnize wedding in the venue rather than the offices.
7 . Book wedding day with the LCR ( not sure when to book it with them but earlier the better in my book)
    8. not sure what documents i need to bring to the wedding obviously marriage licence and pre wedding seminar cert.

Anyway peeps , I would really appreciate if you could look through it and see what I missed out or any advice would be gratefully received.

Not sure about point 6 and can only speak from my own experience. We had arranged a beach wedding however only later did I realise that we had to solemnize in court by the judge. Later in the day he came to the beach venue and effectively went through the same process, obviously in a somewhat nicer setting.

We used a wedding agent. They took care of all of this. I just tagged along with what they specified.

Ours was a civil wedding and we managed to squeeze everything in to just over 2 weeks.
