Then, of course there is Rollover CGT, one can sell all the properties in one go, and use the profits to purchase a more valuable one........
    I think............

Anyone with more than one living brain cell would realise that levying 100% CGT on selling rental homes is going to yield a big fat zero in tax revenue.

Labour would find a tax on lack of profits........... If not, they can invent it.............. Like Brown did in the past............

I predict that should, heaven forfend, the electorate vote for a Corbyn-led government, exactly what happened in France will take place here. All the rich businessmen, not wishing to pay Hollande's ever increasing tax burden, upped sticks and move themselves and their money out of France and into the UK (and elsewhere).

Labour always imagines that there's this vast amount of tax they can collect from the wealthier members of society. They've recently had 13 years during which to find and tap this alleged resource but were singularly unsuccessful.

I agree, such a tax would completely pointless. I believe that there are a number of quite legal ways to avoid CGT liability, one being to gift the asset to a child - which would have the added benefit of providing them with a "starter" home. That house would become their (the child's) main/sole residence and therefore CGT would not payable upon sale (and provided the donor lived for at least a further seven years, Gift Tax liability is avoided). Also, I do believe that CGT liability is time-limited and that a property held for ten(?) years does not attract CGT on any profits made upon sale.

Labour's dislike of "buy-to-let" is purely cosmetic, enabling their politicians to make crowd-pleasing soundbites whilst a study of Members' interests carried-out in 2012 revealed that one in ten Labour MPs owned one or more buy-to-let properties - that's a far higher proportion than in the country generally! Not forgetting the fact that local authorities - including those controlled by Labour - are heavily reliant on private landlords to house tenants; that isn't going to change any time soon.

Whilst Corbyn can be likened to a cosmic black hole, there's one young Parliamentarian who is definitely a rising star. This young lady

is proving to be far more successful at holding government ministers' heels to the fire than the unelectable veteran at Labour's helm.

A bit disingenuous to, on the one hand, complain that the debt burden has risen whilst, on the other hand, complaining about measures to reduce the amount of debt! It's also rather hypocritical coming from a party whose leaders pledge to increase public sector spending to unprecedented levels and increase public borrowing - which is the only way they will have to finance their spending.

Corbyn has been rightfully condemned for what he said in this YouTube video posted by the Communist Party:

He demonstrates his lack of knowledge of British History by stating that the First World War - which, he maintains, should not be commemorated - "was a war between monopolies fighting it out for markets."

Those who do not learn the lessons of history are destined to repeat the mistakes.

You know, Keith, I felt sure that by now I'd be reading a triumphalist post by you following the Scottish Labour conference vote to abolish Trident, to your mate Jeremy's great delight. You're slipping, sir! Mind you, Scottish union support for the abolition is lukewarm and conditional on there being no job losses. Fat chance: many jobs would be affected and not just at Faslane.

Corbyn's minor victory north of the border has been slapped-down by his own shadow Defence Secretary, Maria Eagle, who told Radio 4 yesterday: "This does not change UK Labour party policy. Defence is not a devolved matter so Labour party policy on this must be set at a national level", thereby raining on Jeremy's parade. Scottish Labour's lurch to the left can be explained by the fact that it faces annihilation at next year's Scottish Parliamentary elections by the even more socialist SNP.

Corbyn's fling with Diane Abbott apparently ended as a result of his inability to satisfy her appetite - no, really! She kicked him into touch because of the dreadful food they ate together and his insistence that she food shop at the Co-op. This follows the revelation that Corbyn had never taken Jane Chapman, his first wife, on a dinner date, preferring to eat cold beans straight out of the tin.

Guido Fawkes has more embarrassment for Corbyn by revealing that the registered office of the Momentum Campaign - the 2015 version of Militant Tendency set-up by the hard left Corbyn crony Jon Lansman to fight austerity and inequality - is a million-pound luxury riverside apartment in Shad Thames, one of London’s top-rated developments, with views of Tower Bridge. "It’s somewhere you usually find yuppie City folk, not red flag-waving socialists", wrote Guido on Sunday.

This simply goes to show that Corbyn's Labour party is not the party of the working man. It is the party of the work-shy, the unemployable and those who believe the government (ie the tax payer) should fund their lifestyle choices such boob jobs or very large families.

Its called a debate , the Idea is that all aguements are listened to and then policy will be created no rush for that

Thankyou for so clearly demonstrating the differences of character between you, with your scurrilous ad hominum attack how ungentlemanly , something Jeremy doesnt feel the need to do. Perhaps it strikes a chord in you! :p

Scraping Trident is now the stated policy of the Scottish Labour party.

Scurrilous ad hominem attack??!! It might be scurrilous if it weren't true. But it is - true, that is. Your favourite newspaper has published a report of this by Sebastian Shakespeare this very morning.

As for what Jeremy might or might not say, you're quite right: he doesn't need to be rude as he has others close to him to voice obscenities on his behalf. Like Andrew Fisher who once tweeted "Helpfully my phone autocorrects 'Danczuk' as 'Dumbfuck' … I do love intuitive technology". Now that is an ad hominem attack. What I wrote isn't.

Yes it is and thats great I expect further debate all through this year and hopefully at next years conference it will become national policy ;)

My personal view is that speculation on old relationships intimate details is not the "mark" of a gentleman  (unless no lady is involved oink oink :D)

    This one:

Diane Abbott for whom Jeremy Corbyn

was a bit of 'rough trade' after his first wife divorced him in the fifth year of their marriage in 1979. He apparently treated the young Miss Abbott by popping her on the back of his Vespa for a holiday in communist East Germany. But she was reportedly unimpressed by his food choices - I guess his idea of a romantic dinner a deux was handing her tin of Co-op baked beans and a can opener. :D

All clear now, Dom? There will be a test .....

    From today's PMQs:

"Look at his appointments. His media adviser is a Stalinist. His new policy adviser is a Trotskyist. And his economic adviser is a communist. If he’s trying to move the Labour Party to the left, I’d give him full Marx." :D

This is just one example of why I don't want people like this to have tax credits and various other benefits.
And this sort of attitude of entitlement has been widely encouraged by the Libour shower that was in charge of the country on several sad occasions.

I am actually surprised that Liverpool evicted them......... But then again they will be a bigger drain on resources as the rent now, probably paid with our taxes, is more expensive...
