Moissanite is naturally occurring silicon carbide and its various crystalline polymorphs. It has the chemical formula SiC and is a rare mineral, discovered by the French chemist Henri Moissan in 1893. Silicon carbide is useful for commercial and industrial applications due to its hardness, optical properties and thermal conductivity. Efforts to synthesize silicon carbide in a laboratory began in the early 1900s So a diamond and moissanite ring is real and false!
I think if you go for a cubic zirconia ring that's not too big and obviously not a real diamond nobody..except a very experienced jeweller will know the difference.
The Chinese and the Russians are growing diamonds, which have exactly the same chemical and optical properties as naturally found stones.
No need to go so far, it very likely rains diamonds on Jupiter and probably Saturn too. Wouldn't crash the market though because they would be so incredibly expensive to collect
I mentioned Dubai earlier. It's not such a crazy idea, if you're travelling between UK and Philippines, then arrange a stopover in Dubai. You will get the best prices and quality on gold and diamonds.
Diamonds might be cheap, beer definitely isn't More than 10 quid a pint for a Heineken on Friday morning
Hong kong is an incredible city, theres plenty of jewellers, enjoy your time in one of the most fascinating cities on the face of the planet.
My ex wife ( I think she stalks/ed me on here ) was working in India, Mubai I think, and wanted to buy some earrings. A very plain guy turned up at the hotel with a supermarket bag then started to unpack loads of diamonds wrapped in tissue from it. She chose two, paid significantly less and he made them into earrings which she wore on her return. I think she had them valued and they were siginificantly worth more than she paid... I didn't see any of the jewelry after the divorce come to think about it.
when my previous wife walked out on me she left her rings--with a letter of farewell. my current wife is happy to use the engagement ring as extra bling.
after a year living together we got married--november 2008. a few months later i started to suspect things werent quite right. by the end of that first year of married bliss i knew she was a liar, a deceiver--a crook--a thief. i had it out with her--she offered to leave there and then--but for reasons best known to me i let her stay. but things went from bad to downright silly. her past was catching up with her so she just split==march 2012. best break i ever had.
