The problem is that for each person who knows from experience that this ridiculous document means nothing in the UK, there are several people who say that they think it is required. So people getting married in the UK continue to think it is needed.
So a separated woman who isn't annulled from the previous marriage can apply for a UK Fiance Visa as long as she would insist she is single? Just curious how the ECO would look into that. hmmmmm
i still think the applicant could well require a cenomar for the cfo---why risk being refused the cfo permit--after having got the settlement visa ? would you risk it ?
Guess it's better to overproduce docs than to risk the application. After all, cenomar is not expensive and is an easy thing to get though it takes longer than a birth certificate.
One thing I just learned from reading the article below is that if a British chap is getting married abroad he should still give notice to marry in the UK, you learn something everyday https://blog.amanara.co.uk/2010/06/...te-of-no-impediment-cni-and-how-to-obtain-it/
I didnt say you need it but it is a UK document proving you are free to marry. https://blog.amanara.co.uk/2010/06/...te-of-no-impediment-cni-and-how-to-obtain-it/
I must say, that would never have been on my to do list if I had got married in the Philippines, or maybe it would because I would have read up on it.
CNI was a required document when getting married in the Philippines in 2012. If i hadn't of produced it at the Consulate in Cebu I couldn't of got married. The rules have since changed.
We have to remember that when you are applying for the settlement visa that you sign a declaration stating that the information submitted is correct, anyone found telling porky pies on their application can be liable to deportation.
At the end of the day it is all about securing the visa and if we submit documents that are not needed then what the hell as long as we get the right decision, we all know that we go over the top with the submissions but it makes us feel more confident and reassured when applying.
We know its not a requirement for the fiance visa application, but just because we'll use the priority service, im sure I read they require it so they can process your documents quickly........or maybe I dreamt it xD
