Oh okay, this is interesting. I thought this is really a requirement in a fiance visa application just to prove the applicant has never been married before.
I believe that is not the case, you do need a CEMAR though if you were married in the Philippines; C. Requirements Counseling Requirements: (with or without visa) No need to photocopy any registration document No need to submit ID photos Two (2) original valid identification cards with photograph (see samples below); Duly completed guidance and counseling form to be secured at the CFO; If married in the Philippines, original Certificate of Marriage on security paper from the Philippine Statistical Authority (PSA); If married overseas, original Report of Marriage duly registered by the Philippine Embassy/Consulate or the Department of Foreign Affairs; and Payment of PhP400.00 counseling and registration fee. Additional documents may be required in the event that the counselor determines it to be essential to complete the guidance and counseling process. It is advised for all the GCP applicants to prepare the following documents (if applicable to them) in advance and bring these documents when they come to CFO: Divorce decree/certificate (of Filipino spouse or foreign spouse, if previously married) Annulment paper (of Filipino spouse or foreign spouse, if previously married) Proof of residency/Alien Registration Card-ARC (of foreign spouse) Proof of relationship (picture together, e-mails, among others) Death certificate (of Filipino spouse or foreign spouse, if widow/widower) Certificate of Family relations / registration (of foreign spouse) Additional registration requirements for those with visa: Original valid passport; Original valid visa Original Immigrant Data Summary (please do not detach fromyellow packet) for US-bound emigrants, except for K visa holders; Original Confirmation of Permanent Residencefor Canada-bound emigrants; Original Visa Grant Notice for Australia-bound emigrants; Original Certificate of Eligibility for Japan-bound emigrants; Original CFO Guidance and Counseling Certificate (if already attended the GCP); and Duly completed emigrant registration form. http://www.cfo.gov.ph/gcp.html
Okay, so let's say I'm married and separated here, no need to worry about it because I can apply for a fiance visa to UK as long as I don't declare that I'm married and just say I'm single? Anyway, just bring a cenomar. Don't risk your application.
As I said, we never had one and never needed it for the visa or cfo. If in doubt then get one for peace of mind. But don't worry too much about it.
my fiancee produced her cenomar to the CFO--but then she had been married before--and got an annulment. as for an applicant who has never been married before--how else can they prove it ?
How do British people prove they are single when giving notice to marry? There is no British or UK documentation to prove you are single. The visa is for Britain. How many British people have a cenomar? There is no such thing in the rest of the World.
You're correct of course Graham though I feel people will continue to submit the CENOMAR, God bless em
I guess because UK immigration authorities can easily access a database that will show records of marriage status to conduct a check while single Filipinos have to submit one as the UK authority has no access to Philippines' and can only be proved by that yellow piece of paper.
Isn't CNI a UK document proving you are free to marry? A document that has to be displayed in the registry office for 10 or so days.
They will not even ask to see a CENOMAR when you give notice to marry in the UK in a couple of months time.
Yes, that's what a British chap sometimes needs when marrying abroad; A Certificate of No-Impediment, also known as a CNI, is a document that states that there are no known impediments for you to marry, in other words, you are free to marry. It is not always a requirement to produce a Certificate of No-Impediment when you are getting married abroad
