Yes. I can see in your photographs that you are indeed enjoying your stay here. I have to convince my husband to stay here for good as he wanted to move to other places. I've been here for 6 mos. already. I haven't seen or witnessed any riot anywhere. Newcastle for me is very quiet with friendly and hospitable neighbours.

I agree about the girls..hehe...I bet Pinoy seafarers would love to stay in Newcastle especially the Bigg Market as it's like Malate. I have nothing against seafarers as my two brothers are seafarers as well. I am referring to those naughty ones...hehe..

I would love to visit London but it's too far. lol..The fare is almost the same as flying from Newcastle to France.

I have seen a couple of lads boxing against each other in the street. But they were wearing gloves and headgears. Just for sport, nothing serious.

Newcastle is a friendly place. In my month stay, I haven't encountered any racism or aggression.

In London, I had a couple of incidents.

The girls here are also chatty and quite curious. They always ask where I'm from. A lot don't know where the Philippines is. hahaha...

Malate? I don't know. I'm a Malate/Ermita/Paco boy, grew up in the area and I don't see any resemblance.

The only good thing about London is the opportunity to earn lots of money.

More jobs, more businesses, more people willing to spend.

Other than that, I'd rather live outside London/

Sorry, I meant to say if you're in the pub you can feel like you're in a bar in Malate ..hehe..The only difference is that they are in their best suits and dress every Friday..

By the way, I don't drink. I only went to the pub here once to see how it looks. So, I can't really distinguish the similarities or the difference between the ones in Malate as I only went in a Malate bar once to see a friend who used to sing in that bar.

I agree with you. There are lots of opportunities in London and it's the destination of most Filipinos especially nurses, engineers etc.

I have met a fellow kabayan in Newcastle Dental hospital. He mentioned that they stayed here for 12 years now and still don't have savings as they are still paying for their mortgage here and sending money to Pinas as well. His wife is a nurse and he's not. But they are both working in the hospital. Their three children are living here as well.

I told him it's okay at least in few more years they will have their own house na as houses here in the UK are really expensive.

Yeah, you were right. London is like a country of its own. Quite different.

My next stop will be Scotland.

I was hoping to travel yesterday with some friends but I woke up late due to drinking too much Friday night. Hahah...

Oh well, there will always be next time.

Mortgage. There are banks that offer good ones. But wow 12 years, they must be sending a lot of money back home.

They have a better chance in Newcastle to buy a home than in London.

Try visiting London one of these days. Ask hubby. It's just 3 hrs by Virgin Train.

    You'll see the difference.

Earls Court is where most of our kabayans hang around.

    Soon. I will (hopefully) :).

Yes. I was shocked and speechless when he told me about the 12 years stay. I agree that they must be sending a lot of money to the Philippines.
