I asked him whether the killings in Gaza contributed to what is happening now and he said no. He said all his friends hate the IS and they are causing lots of problems to moderate Muslims in the UK, particularly to the more vulnerable women folk who wear more obvious signs of their religion.
He said the IS cannot be Muslims and that they must be brainwashed.
He is a moderate Muslim with a family.
I wished I could have talked for a longer time but everyone, including me, are too busy.
I am so happy to have the chance to speak to Muslims in the UK, something displaced expats are not able to do, so their world view is skewed. After 22 years if being an expat, I realise now that I needed a lot of time to reintegrate to life back in the UK.
Now that I am now living in the UK, I am very happy that my children are living in a multicultural society.
