That’s okay in theory but the amount of sh1t and negativity I have had to put up with since I started posting on this stuff has been massive. And no thanks whatsoever, with the exception of Jim and Keith. A lot of what I posted was either countered or negated. Yes, they can make up their own minds and they do in the outside world but also in the outside world outside of these hallowed walls of the forum, people either express appreciation or say nothing. Oss argued the toss for months and months that black was white and it was all wrong and then went and did it and found it was all right. He lost a shed load of weight. But not a word of thanks.
And as for Mattecube. He is excused owing to his limited cerebral capacity.

I was arguing a point of physics I never at any point denied that what you were saying worked, I was telling you that you were and are wrong to imply that the law of conservation of energy can be violated nothing more, that does not mean that I was saying a keto diet didn't work.

The reason why I actually decided to adopt this type of eating was the result of a discussion with my sister who did this more than a decade ago, I had reservations about the safety of it and still have but my sister had survived it albeit that she did not stick to the diet in later years and after many years did put most of the weight back on but that was her choice and in her case she is fond of wine and you could be as keto as you want but if you drink a lot, as in too much, you very probably will still store weight on any kind of diet including keto.

From what I can see the thing that is hacking most people here off is the insistence that there is no other way but keto, and the derision of other people who have adopted alternatives diets, not all of these people here are T2 or obese to start with, Mike for example was pretty fit looking the last time I met him since then he went vegan then pescatarian and I expect he is still pretty fit for his age.

Everything you are saying about T2 diabetes and other illnesses and the benefits of keto for those people is true, as is the fact that people on a high carbohydrate diet will find it very very hard to get rid of weight even with a lot of exercise, all true.

Your posts certainly brought the diet, this way of eating, to my attention and yes I thank you for that, but the reason I started it was my sister's success long ago and a big reason that it actually worked for me is that I quit alcohol completely, had I not done that I would have failed.

Many in the media are saying, once again, that eggs are bad for you, and that a vegan diet is much healthier. They want you to eat “egg substitutes” instead. Are these substitutes like “Just Egg” really good for you?

With regards to macronutrients such as fat and protein, per serving they include similar amounts, at 5g fat and 6g protein for a real egg, versus 5g fat and 5g protein for Just Egg. It must be good, right?

Let’s look first at the list of ingredients to see what we’re working with. For one egg, the ingredients list is as follows: egg. For one small bottle of Just Egg, the ingredients are listed in the earlier post. Loads of em.

However. Just Egg misses out on many of the important nutrients that real eggs have, such as:
    ⁃Vitamin D
    ⁃Vitamin B12
    ⁃Choline
as well as antioxidants such as:
    ⁃lutein
    ⁃zeaxanthin
-cholesterol (yes we need cholesterol - look it up)

These nutrients and antioxidants are very important for bone health, mental fortitude, overall energy, pregnancy, eye health, and many other factors. Depriving the body of an easy source of such beneficial intakes is a silly decision.

Furthermore, a key ingredient in Just Egg is canola oil. This is dangerous to your health in many ways, as it contains trans fats, harmful synthetic antioxidants and has a high ratio of Omega-6 to Omega-3 fatty acids, all of which cause inflammation and reduce cognitive function.

Nutritional health aside, there are other downsides to this “plant-based” egg substitute. Firstly, it is much more expensive even than organic hen eggs, at over 5 dollars (355ml), so is not suitable for those wanting to get the best value for money.

Additionally, you can’t cook with it in the same way you cook with eggs. There are too many ingredients that all impact the chemical processes in cooking that prevent it from being a useful addition.

In short, if you want to replace real hen eggs with these plant-based substitutes, you should expect only downsides. You will pay more money for a product with potentially harmful qualities, less nutritional benefits and no use in real cooking. Don’t waste your time. Buy eggs.

Don’t delude yourself everything revolves around this forum or you. Fortunately there is a far richer element to society outside of your bubble.

    I agree, eggs are good.

Eating some fats and lots of carbs then the fat ends up in your arteries and hurts you.

Eating good fats and very few carbs and the fat gets burned and can't end up in your arteries.

Eating good fats and a fair bit of carbs then some fat will probably still end up in your arteries but it's less of an issue if you are doing this after your mid fifties but could ultimately still hurt you.

Those three statements I make above are probably a simplification I haven't read them anywhere they are just a summary of how I now think this stuff works, I could be wrong but this is how I have rationalised it to myself.

And I also agree that that these highly processed alternatives for animal products will likely turn out to have other bad side effects, if someone takes an ethical decision to be vegan then fine and most of the evidence suggests they will be fine for the majority of their lives, it is a diet with problems regards lack of certain essential nutrients but there are lots of research papers saying it is healthy enough.

Yeah sugars are the problem but complex carbohydrates are far less of a problem.

And eggs yeah real eggs are really good.

Personally I would never become vegan, not for reasons of feared weight gain or anything like that but because I don't feel particularly bad about our species exploiting the animal resources the planet offers, I accept that we are at the top of the global food chain and I know that one day we will have synthetic meat that is pretty much exactly the same as the sentient kind, what we do to animals is not nice but eventually we won't do it because it will be cheaper safer and more efficient to grow meat in vitro on production lines without the need to hurt living creatures.

You appear to be the one keeping my name at the fore,( with the childish snidy digs in various posts) I barely, well never mention myself!
If you want to look for appreciation of input that you crave for have a look at some of the feedback from the wider audience I receive I neither expect it or crave it but its nice to receive, one day you will get some.
Anyways got a holiday looming so got to dash have fun on your keyboard, hope the fat lady sings for your long suffering family was it our gate that they managed to get to last year or just your keyboard.

One of the great ironies of veganism / vegetarianism is that they don’t want to eat meat or eggs so why on earth try and imitate meat or eggs? Crazy. :D :frust:
