Moving on from the recent Brexit who would you like as the next prime minister?

For me it would be Theresa May, a leader who has plenty of experience and would oversee the Brexit in a dignified and orderly manner.

I like Boris but I get the distinct impression that he is not taken very seriously in Europe and therefore would not be the person to take us out of the EU.

I dont really mind as long as they call a Generall Election and all the Party,s can stand on there exit strategies and a promise of PR that way we can retain the single market and free movement democratically whilst no longer having a say:D:p

I can understand why you would want a General Election but its just wasting time as the Labour party is in no position and will not be for some time to put a decent fight, last week has told us that.

I never thought I'd ever say it, as she has been a pet hate of mine for a while, but I actually agree with you.

Boris would be a disaster. He has probably lost the respect of both the EU and the Conservative party.

One of my reasons for supporting May (like you I don't like her) is because she has a strong personality and will be seen as a credible leader to take us out of the EU.

Its all about selecting a leader who is the best to take us out of the EU as painlessly as possible.

I for one am not expecting an easy transition but truly believe that the UK will be stronger and safer outside the EU, the Remain slogan :)

Like many I am looking to the future and I do believe we need a strong and respected leader to lead us out of the EU.

i think the only charismatic leader the country has had --since Thatcher--was Blair. until he decided it was time the tories were due a turn at the wicket--and handed over to Broon.

I think May is the best option as she has kept her head low during the debate often being thought as sitting on the fence by the media.

I wouldn't rule Gove out either, I just think Boris is seen as a bit of a dick in Europe thus he is not our man although many will disagree.

I agree, since Blair Labour have not had a credible and especially popular leader, as soon as he handed the keys of number 10 to Brown then the collapse of the party started.

I wouldn't want Gove. He comes across as a bit drippy to me, plus he was too prominent in the leave campaign.

We need a fresh ace, and I think May knows that and has played a clever game by keeping a low profile.

Gove and/or Johnson are real no-no's for me, although I liked Boris as Mayor of London.

I agree that Boris made a good Mayor of London, I just think Boris may rub people up the wrong way and he will not be taken seriously, I do not think he has the time to show what a good leader he could possible be, its about how he is perceived by us and the EU leaders at this moment in time.
