My lady does exactly the same, I just thought it was her that liked the slices of hot dog in the Bolognese LOL, I didn't know until now that it was a Filipino thing

They do like their pasta sauces sweet here John. Can't stand it myself. As for those skinless sausage things the wife has them every now and then but I can't face them!

Now I quite like sopas, but my sister in law does a dish called Sopas Supreme. The supreme bit appears to be slices of hot dog over the top!

This post made me smile and gave me a bit of hope as I'm wondering if I could still practice my profession back in the Philippines. Btw, I worked as an engineer before arriving here and I'm glad to know that it is possible to find employment in the UK in the same or related field. It might be difficult, but I'm optimistic that it is doable.

I know some nurses who got certified but I'm looking forward to meet others in the engineering field so I could ask about their experiences. I have been browsing the web for the steps I need to take to get certification. Also tried to search if there is a Facebook group for Filipino engineers in the UK but haven't found any.

I'm okay with studying again - it would be a new challenge. But if I could land a job without having to go through it again, that would be awesome.

@Dav3&Ai5a , you got your engineering degree certified? May I ask the procedure? Is it the UK NARIC certification stating equivalent to UK degree?
I am chemical engineering graduate and looking forward to work on my field,
would like to work as soon as I get my spouse visa :)

Hi @missQT, I only recently started the process of finding out how or if it is possible. It would have been easier if I was a nurse as there are many nurses here - I found out how already upon browsing the web, lol.
I'd look for the equivalent of PIChE if I were you, that's my starting point (IIEE in my case). Good luck, and please let me know how you get on so we could exchange notes. :)
