Hi I'm new here. I'm still on the process of applying for a fiancee visa. And I'm stuck in paying online. I understand that the fees are in US dollars. I'm just wondering if they accept payment through a peso savings account? If not, can I use a third party's (e.g. relative) credit card to pay for the visa fees?

    Hello Guys,

Im now in the Online Payment Page, and it always says PAYMENT UNSUCCESSFUL.
My Fiance already transfer enough money to pay for it, and i have enough saving left for that, why it still didnt work??.. huhuhuhu, :(( :((

Your payment was unsuccessful for one or more the following reasons.

    • Some of the card/personal details entered does not match the information held by your Card Issuer.
    • You do not have enough cleared funds on your card to cover the amount of the purchase.
    • Your Card Issuer referred the transaction for an authorisation code or further identity checks.
    • Your card has been reported as lost/stolen and been cancelled by your Card Issuer.
    • Your card has or is due to expire and has been replaced by your Card Issuer.
    • Your card cannot be used to pay for goods/services in a Cardholder-Not-Present environment (online/over the internet).
    • There may be a problem with your Card Issuer's authorisation system.
Should the problem persist, you should contact your Card Issuer for further information.

If you do not make a successful payment within 3 hours, your appointment will be cancelled and you will need to re-book.

Your application will be deleted if you do not login and access your application within 14 days.

Same thing happened to me few months back. We resolved it by my fiancé accessing my visa4uk account and paid for the fees using his credit card. I can still remember how frustrated both of us were because he also transferred the money in my peso savings account and it didn't go through :frust:

I suggest, you might want to do the same. No hassle on your part

    Online Application Spouse Visa
    Type: Settlement
    Applicant: Wife

Does anyone know why the online application has section 'Employment' to complete?

Yet the paper version VAF4A doesn't have any such section as the application is reliant on spouse financial details.

    Online Application Spouse Visa

    Sponsor Details Section
I assume that UK Spouse is declared in this section as being the Sponsor?

If so, Why isn't there a 'Husband or Wife' option in the pull down menu?
It seems that 'other relative' is the only option to select?

Is this another case of 'generic' online form filling not matching the paper VAF4A form?

I've had one or two people ask me recently here at BF which they should select out of the drop down menu, it would be interesting to know why the UKVI have left Husband and Wife out of the options.

I am assuming they have left the option out for a reason, what that reason is I don't know :)

One of the things that makes the filling out of these forms tiresome is the fact that they are generic which can sometimes lead to some confusion when filling the form out. Most recently I found that the FLR form has one or two "which box shall I tick" moments in it.

As with any forms of this nature you should read it through until you understand it thoroughly and then fill it out, after you have completed the form you should then double and triple check that it is filled out correctly.

I think its been engineered to reduce the quantity of entries required, by filtering according to entries, unlike the reams of entries for a General Visitor Visa.

Its now completely obvious that the most important form is the financial requirements form Appendix 2, which cannot be filled in online.....

I guess they decided not to continue paying the IT company to complete the job???

    or

after making 2million or more they chose to stop and retire in the Bahamas?

You're right, the financial requirement form is the most important form in the visa process, the personal details online form is very easy as it is just asking for basic personal information that we all have to hand.

I think that most people would agree that a generic form is the most difficult to navigate, it is understandable however why the UKVI do this as you have pointed out.

I fail to understand here at BF why is seems to be the ladies here that seem to be left with the burden of filling the visa forms in, their chaps in the UK should be posting questions here, or maybe they are just shy :)

If its difficult for us born and bred in the UK to fill the forms out then its bound to be even more difficult for the Filipina/Filipino back in the Phils.

Its a joint effort obtaining the UK visa that's for sure.

As you may have guessed by now, i've been sorting most things out.
Just needed mrs to register, in order she will get notifications.

Hence trying to post as much info to assist others.

Its the best time to post and help others in the same situation, you soon start to forget about the details of the visa application once you have been successful and you start your new life together, I can personally vouch for that. And of course the visa forms change as do the UKVI goal posts.

Yep, also websites. The gov site is better in many ways, but the old borders site allowed access to ECO guidance's and check sheets, alas no more....

I had read that the government was reviewing the existence / need of advisers, they have realised that it has been doubling the cost of visa or even more and they really have no say on success.

Oh I see, they have added "Partner" to the drop down list in #28 (One World's post number 28 above)

Great, a sensible move by the VFS that will just make it a little easier when selecting the category :)

This is for just one lady no kids. Apologies for not doing a screenprint.
Filipina are the Rolls Royce of women, and only if we can afford one these days. Nothing to report yet on running costs.:)
