I drank milk in the dairy shed in the 70's and 80's at Glastonbury festival and the taste was amazing. Nothing added but I suppose it could have been dangerous, I'm not sure.
No, it is not possible to be both at the same time. https://www.thegrocer.co.uk/future-...diet-the-grocer-research-shows/565771.article
she did tell me vegan means not just what she eats--it also means no animal products--like leather shoes or furniture.
Yes, that could be right for some vegans but on a practical standpoint, IMO, would becoming vegan mean breaking up furniture that was already in your home because of a new food regime? I could not afford to throw furniture out with a growing family and living under the constraints that most of us have to accept and struggle through. Everything can be taken to the nth degree but I suppose we all draw a line where we feel comfortable, on a moral standpoint. I suppose I am not as vegan as your friend is. I have to collect KFC for the family but I couldn't tell my wife and kids that what they are eating is wrong. I set the rules for myself and put the chicken nuggets on my wife or kids' plates. There is such a wide choice of meat-free foods these days that I hope the rest of the family will enjoy as time goes on. I still make omelettes for my wife's breakfast....
personally i think if being vegan proves to be benificial for you--then go for it. i prefer a diet that includes meat, and fish to a limited extent. i think i have a balanced diet--and have no worries about it.
I could not live without my corner leather sofa....... My office chair... And branded shoes made in sweatshops by slave children... And on sunny days at county shows, my Kangaroo bush leather Aussie hat... When I see on the news about bunches of vegans invading restaurants and chant inane chants and try to scare customers away from a business that is working very hard at bringing them in during those difficult times, I feel as if they should be keelhauled twice over.
It even affects beer. No frothing pints of handpumped Tim Taylors Landlord real ale allowed for @aposhark
yep--i used to make a lot of wines and beer--and used chitin finings--made from crushed up crab etc shells
Ox blood, egg white and krill are also extremely effective as finings, especially in wine. But it is not legislation, yet, to have a list of ingredients on the label......... And due to french pressure, it will never be.
