I remember the wonderful days when buying a sandwich meant just "buying a sandwich".

Now there are halal, vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, low fat, and all manner of nut and soya allergies that must be specially catered for.

Customers go into violent convulsions, allergic reactions, political posturing, and complex legal suits if there is just a trace of sesame seed in their lunchtime snack.

I wonder why we never heard of all those allergies and trendy illnesses when i was a kid. All we had then was asthma and nits.

You played outside in the dirt, there are reasonable grounds to believe that we have over sanitized the environment our children grow up in, I am not that well versed in this particular theory and it may be wrong but the reports I've read have suggested stuff along these lines.

I agree that kids probably do get too molly coddled from the real world. But at the same time, I think a lot of kids simply died from undiagnosed allergies. I think that definitely happens in the province where autopsies and death certificates are not the most thorough of processes .

I was in a house party and the host was like,

"If ever there are vegans, pestacarians or with special diets, just let me know."

I told them I do have a special diet.
I'm allergic to getting hungry. I need extra portions.

    No one laughed.

Man, them lot need to experience what it was like to have no food on the table or having to survive with just canned goods and pancit canton.

wife made me a mango pie yesterday, she said it looks like a large crab, Bit into it and almost broke a tooth. She should have said it's as hard as a crabs shell.

My only experience with a vegan lifestyle is a friend of mine. When i first knew her she loved a bacon sandwich..and steak pie. Then her teenage son decided he was vegan ..so she followed suit. Now..6 years later..shes got every fashionable illness only women seem to get.

Everyone I have met who has become vegan have been incredibly positive about their new eating habits and the feel-good factor that comes with it.

The popularity of veganism is growing very quickly so I suppose that tells a tale.

The only self-proclaimed vegan I have ever known was pale, anemic, and had a pervading body odour of decomposing vegetables, she was not getting a balanced diet.
She always talked about chickpeas, I guess that a Subway Vegan-burger might have helped.

I have not met any vegan person like that.
I also take vitamin B2 and people have said I look more healthy since becoming vegan.
I have also had vastly increased levels of energy and feel younger.
What's not to like about that?

It is easy to think negatively about something one hasn't tried and the only way to really know is to do it for yourself.
I have never felt better as I have no toxins from meat in my body.

"Those who feel it know it" ;)

"Toxins from meat", what are you on about?

If you want to make lifestyle choices, that is up to you, and I respect you for it, as long as you respect those who like a decent steak, a bacon buttie, a ham and cheese sandwich, fish and chips, or a peanut butter and blue Stilton toastie.

Do a little bit of searching and the results are there.
I made the point because it was how I felt, not how other people should feel.
