So what is it like to be married to a british man?

We did something similar. We went into an American restaurant so I could show her Western cooking. It was rancid and beyond 500 hkd. Thankfully we discovered cheaper local food.

    Vissayan :)

Your hubby to be is going to do a process. I found it difficult to do the process, and rather ridiculous, and was a dual national, so I renounced Britishness. So me and my wife are now both foreigners in a country where I have lived since birth.

    Ah, so she's a FILIPINO. :)

I think he wouldn't want to be a Filipino citizen coz he doesn't even wanna live here knowing the terrible Manila traffic.
Once I marry him, when or how do I become a british citizen? He wants to take me to a eurotrip but that seems difficult considering visas.

Hang on...he hasn't proposed yet??? My wife asks how do you know he will!?

The process isn't a walk in the park. It's harder than it was pre-2012. It helps greatly if he earns over 18600 a year - but if you can afford to live in hk, chances are he does.

My boyfriend is currently in Japan for work. He will return to UK before 2016 ends and when he gets back there, he wants me to be there.
Although we aren't in a hurry, we thought having a spousal visa is the best thing to do .
At first, I didn't want to talk about marriage to him but I reckon that's the only resort if we want to be together.

Most of the time, yes it is the only practical resort.

Posh people, when they fart, raise an eyebrow and look upon someone nearby! They say nothing.

Posh people are proud of their farts and enjoy showing them off.
My wife has fully adjusted to this now, and they are a constant source of amusement to us both. Marriage is about sharing. :)

Five years one month and four days ago I surprised K by getting her a taxi and seeing her into it. Any Brit would do the same for a lady. In sixteen days' time we are going to get married. According to her parents, I "treat her like a princess..."

one step at a time. You can't become a British citizen until after you are granted indefinite leave to remain which is itself going to be 5 years after you enter the UK for the first time.
If you want to do a trip to Europe you would have to apply for a schengen visa as the spouse of a British national. I don't believe it's a difficult process and there are threads about it on here.
