So what is it like to be married to a british man?

I believe that marriage is sacred and should be done with the presence of love and commitment.

I personally believe that when it comes to morals and manners, brits are impressive.
So before I say YES, any piece of advice... or warnings!?

British men are the best in the world but I'm bias

I think it's much more important that you know the man you're marrying. It's unwise to generalize and say that 'all British men' are this or that. There are good and bad apples everywhere.

I would suggest that you're careful if you haven't known each other very long.

'Marry in haste. Repent at leisure'.

I agree with you. Well, I've known my man since April last year and we became official three months ago. I don't believe I need to wait for many years before settling down with him.

Now, for us to be together everyday (like every couples want to be), I think it's best to get married. After all, I've seen in him everything I was looking for in a man. oooops, cheesy.

I agree Keith, more time you spend together before marriage makes it less likely everything will go pear shaped once living together in the UK.

From what I know, Timmers seems to be a good example of a British gentleman. It pours out of every post of his! However, I would say that morals and manners to me are generally evident more in those British over 40 than under it; principles are a dirty word or inconvenient to some.

I am no longer British so I cannot pretend to be a gentleman! I just try and do what I say and that is the primary reason why my wife married me. I don't think that makes me a gentleman.

The only advice I can give about getting married is - when you know, you know. And don't settle for anything else.

You will find UK men the same, as Andy stated in his post, older people in the UK tend to have higher moral standards and better manners than the younger generation.

We have a saying in the UK, "manners cost nothing." You will find that people are much more responsive to you if have good manners.

If he is posh he will say "pardon me I've just trouser coughed"

Well, he only says "sorry" with a very embarrassed face so I guess he's not posh.
