I hope that anyone who visits this thread with thoughts of diving in the Philippines will enjoy these diver-related posts. The Philippines is a nice place to dive and there are many dive sites to visit. There are many dive sites that are relatively easy to dive with currents that are not strong. There are also dive sites that are challenging (one is Tubbataha Reef in the Sulu Sea, to the east of Palawan Island. Tubbataha dive season lasts just 3 months, from mid-March to mid-June. (I have, sadly, not been there as the availability was not good for me in the past and is a dream for me.) It is not cheap to go there also, but this constraint is different for everybody. There are liveaboard vessels that go there, this is one such company: https://www.liveaboard.com/diving/p...RjNKoqcXBYucwIOFAdJkLUJYrBnS_XLBoCEO8QAvD_BwE Some videos by this man, Finn Snow, have been on British-Filipino.com previously. Another video, this time with Filipino dialogue:
Nice relaxing day at the beach, snorkeling swam out further than I usually do, I was past the coral and could just make out the sea-bed, not sure what the depth was. Swimming back there was two scuba divers I think one was having lessons that gave me some idea of the depth I recon 30 ft or so. Didn't see any turtles this time. The sun was stronger today even with sun block I still got a tan. A nice cold Beer waiting for me.
Sounds good, Jim. Some people forget that water offers minimal protection from UV radiation. About 40% of UV radiation can still reach the body 0.5 metres below the water surface. Diving is better.
