If you get that email, it is usually a sign of an approved visa. But just wait until you receive your passport. Have been issued 2 visas in the past - general visit visa and family visit visa and got the same email for both instances.
Oh, I just remembered that the text alert is something you sign up for and have to pay an exorbitant amount for. The email alert is something you sign up for too but is free
Can i just ask Mrs. M how long ago did u lodged your application to the vfs office. When did u submit ur application? I submiited mine about 8 weeks ago and haven't received any news yet. Thanks..and goodluck..
Sorry to hear about your wait. Some people are having to wait a full 3 months. So dont worry too much.
Hi! Lodged my visa on February 28th, got a text on March 1st saying the visa has been despatched to the embassy for processing then yesterday, I received the email and the text. I met another girl at the vfs office the day I lodged my visa, she was applying under the same category. I asked her yesterday if she has received a text/email and she has not. So don't know how I should feel about mine coming this soon.
Hi blue acid! I received 3 emails yesterday. The first one says the visa will be dispatched shortly and can be collected at the visa application center. I'm guessing it was from the embassy since the email add had ".gov.uk" at the end. The second one, I received in the afternoon from vfs, says "processed visa application no.." And the third one, sent at the same time and sender as the second one, says "a decision has been made.." So yea, I'm a bit confused
Mrs M looking at your post dates, it was a week from your email from UKVI to getting your visa? Could you please confirm how you received it, either by pickup in person or was it delivered by courier and where was it delivered? If you picked it up in person, did you have any personal travel delays in going to VFS to get your passport? We had the first email on Tuesday morning from UKVI after 32 working days but nothing from VFS so far?.... Paid for texts but haven't received any texts, so imagine it was not setup in the first place! Maybe it isn't just the applicants that need to take their IELTS tests, it's such poor communication for £900 TOTAL NONSENSE been sending these messages out for years.... My local MP has just been appointed Foreign Secretary and is going to meet my wife and get an almighty kick up the arse once she's finally gets over here?!?
You can either have it couriered to your partners door or can collect in person. It depends what you arranged at the outset. Also, it seems, that you may not always get an email from both. Like Timmers says though, have you checked your junk mail?
