I like many others here Lisa are hoping that you dont have to have another trip to Morocco, as pleasant as I'm sure it is :)

Annulments, divorce anything that has to go through a solicitor is just a pain, always makes me wonder why people like this have no sort of timetable to work to, as you say, you really have no idea when the annulment is going to be finalised, I feel for you Bigmac.

It really isnt something I regarded as a hurdle but it obviously is, having said that I'm still smiling, because my beautiful young lady will be waiting for me at home with a big smile and a welcoming hug when I get back home next week.

I could'nt have said that two months ago could I :)

interesting what you said about divorce---and solicitors. i didnt use a solicitor for my divorce--did it myself--this time last year. very simple . 2 years separation with consent. court fee £450----which is of course a total rip off. filled the forms in myself. then i found i was exempt from the charge--being on state pension. was made absolute this january.

beware of internet ads saying divorce for--say £150. this does not include the court cost. just a law firms charge for form filling. takes a few minutes.

I remember my divorce didn't cost a penny, in the latter stages of the divorce proceedings, my wife's solicitors took over mine and there was a conflict of interest, paid for it later though :)

I thought I would jump the gun a little yesterday and apply for an appointment to submit FLR(M) before we are married in a weeks time. True to form it took me about half an hour to make myself an account due to the web page not accepting the password I was sent automatically three times. I was going through the process of booking an appointment when it asked for the loved ones name and I didn't want to lie and say we were already married just in case it had some bearing later on as in them saying you cant apply for a FLR until you are married. It might be the case that there is no problem applying for an appointment before you are married, I will let you know in a weeks time when I apply and get more information.

It does appear that you can choose any of the available offices to submit your paperwork as some of you chaps suggested which is good as it gives you more options for an early submission.

The link below will take you to the page where you can obtain the required forms for the FLR(M) amongst others and where you can apply for the premium service. You can also register for an account there too which is what you will have to do to book an appointment online.

    https://apply.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/iapply.portal

I will do a little write up after we have successfully obtained the visa as I know there will be one or two people following closely in my footsteps.
