And just to make things worst I'm going offshore tomorrow for two or three weeks and I will probably have difficulty organising things from there.

As you know, using the telephones on a rig isn't ideal for private conversations.

Certainly used to be the case. Presumably no different these days...

I remember the old "Wick Radio Wick Radio, come in please..." when the whole of the North Sea could hear your conversation...

LOL I have heard about that, and of course there is always one of those chaps that doesn't mind discussing absolutely everything in public.

Thank God for the internet and Skype, without it we would never have been bringing our loved ones here in the first place :D

I think this hopefully little hiccup we are having with the notice to marry is down to the fact that we have both been married before and they especially need to examine the annulment documents that the loved one submitted. She submitted three of those ribboned documents you will have probably seen from the Philippines.

I know my wifes friend had a tough annullment ( her hubbies ) to get through. One here on the fiancee visa it all seemed to fall into place, wedding , FLR etc He was back here in between rig jobs overseas but on a 5:5 rota.

    Any news on this?

And how's Mrs Timmers while you are away? Alright? Finding her way around the house?

No news yet John, its been two and a half weeks now, cant make any plans until we get the nod. Will phone them later next week when I'm home to see what is going on.

Mrs Timmers is doing okay on her own for a while, visiting my mother on a frequent basis which is good.

I thought you just turned up at an alternative Registry Office to the one you are getting married at, names go on the wall, finished after 2 weeks. Sending our documents off to the head office (what ever the HO is of a Registry Office) is taking too much time. I just want to get married, bang the application in for the FLR and then relax for a couple of years and get on with our lives without a visa application hanging over us.

Not too much to ask is it? :)

Well erm...under the circumstances evidently yes. But hopefully it will snap into place pronto.

Hope it doesn't take too long for you. Everything is so infuriatingly slow isn't it :/

I sincerely hope so, my plans are going to pot now, I'm supposed to be starting a new job in December but I've just emailed them to say I cant start till January next year. I need to get the FLR sorted out before I go self employed.

I don't like not being in control, waiting for someone to give you the green light on something is frustrating.

To be honest I only have myself to blame, didn't give myself enough time, didn't take any delays into consideration.

Hoping that everything will be in order for you, Timmers. It'll come. Don't be too hard on yourself. ;)

Yep, the fact that everything takes so long is the worst part of it all for sure. I'm already planning a trip back to Morocco and application number 2 so we can get it in asap if this one is refused :p
