    Colombia......
If anyone is interested got their name from Cristóbal Colón which is the Spanish translation for the Italian Cristoforo Colombo who, of course, was Christopher Columbus!

Well, none of us got even the first result right; a good job we don't bet.

I thought Rooney had a stinker, should have scored in the second half, but made a goal from a cross.
A draw would have been a fair result, but England didn't take their chances, Our center backs went to sleep, letting Balotelli heading in the winner.

Oh well, just have to beat Costa Rica and Uruguay.

Sorry - been working all day - yes, Sunday - it's exam time - very busy. I have 360 exams to mark!!!!
Firstly, happy Father's Day to all - except the girls of course.
Well, were we poor or what? IMHO we have been playing boring, negative football for many years. You just know when you watch England play that we will lose or draw terribly, or scrape the match by one goal. I hate to say this (and I hope Dom is not reading this) but the Italians played an attractive passing game and they had the will to win. Where is the will to win when you are 2-1 behind and walking around the pitch - looking as though you have all the time in the world when there are only 10 minutes to go???
Also, passing backwards!! When I was a football manager I used to say to my players -'If I see you playing the wrong way, you will not wear that shirt next week!!!'

Anyway, rant over - errr - let's see if I can get one right at last - Ivory Coast 2 Japan 1.

Whaddya mean, it's already been played????

Oh, ok then - here we go for today:-

    Switzerland 1 Ecuador 1
    France 3 Honduras 0
    Argentina 4 Bosnia Herce 1

Funny one this morning, over the PA system on the oil rig someone (unknown but everyone knows who it is ) announced at 6.30 am the England v Italy result, as if us Englanders didnt already know, then said " any English fans wishing to discard their teams shirts should dispose of them in the recycling bin".

Yesterday someone put the flag of Italy in the tea shack, some English guy wrote underneath in bold letters "Jock ****z". Great banter to be had by all in the good old North Sea.

Fair game I thought, Rooney should be left out of the next game or played in a position he is comfortable with.

Its not over until the fat lady sings :D

Unlike footballers who just tap the ball gently with their foot in any old direction, and sometimes fall over and cry like babies. :p

I doubt it, just finished watching the game and I think Iran have 12 defenders, certainly a good game for them all the same.

Mrs Me is being far too supportive of Germany for my liking. Something to do with her sister living there or something.

It's not on. I've told her in no uncertain terms that supporting the Germans is illegal in this country but she's having none of it.

Yeh. My wife has some likes and dislikes. She doesnt like Joe Hart but likes David De Gea. She dislikes Luis Suarez. I am not sure for any real reason. Just because she does. :D

Did'nt like it at all, nothing worst than being on an oil rig with a load of Jocks shouting and screaming as that little T*** scored.

Little or no chance of England qualifying, gutted much like yourself

Yeah. A bit of a gut wrencher. I actually believed we could do better than that.
