I agree about the Croatians John. A VERY dubious penalty award.

So far as I am concerned the World Cup is next year and with Lancaster as coach and playing at home we have every chance of winning.

Kay rang up to say that the sprog was playing in the yard with some other small boys (he's five) and they were kicking the ball with their feet!

    Unheard of!

I enjoyed the opening game last night. Yes, the penalty was controversial but I guess from the refs view he simply saw one guy grab onto another guy who went down.

Not sure how England are going to do in our group, looks like a killer of a group to be in. I actually can't see us getting to the quarter finals!

her point was that there was "a perfectly good hoop" there!

I think football can take over the Philippines. It will be the schoolkids who change over.

I think you're right, wife's nephew is a keen football player. He's won some sort of competition with the local team.

Brazilian police use new vanishing spray outside the ground....... :D Maybe they should try it on one or two of the players when they get out of hand.

In theory football would be a good sport for filipinos, as size is not an issue. In reality it will never happen, as the local population love basketball.

We are already missing out on the greatest show on earth, as games are not shown on normal tv stations :(

    My predictions are:

    Colombia 2 Greece 0
    Uruguay 2 Costa Rica 1
    England 1 Italy 2

I don't think people are up for this world cup as in previous ones.
There are hardly any St. George flags on cars and the people I meet tell me it's all about money for English footballers and not playing for the shirt.
I agree with this also. I cannot muster up any enthusiasm.
