Your good friend Keith is your man on this score; he has just done it. Unfortunately he has to whip the oxon to move quicker cranking up the wheel for the eleccy, then wind up the internet up where is is these days
A few of us have our wives with us in the UK shinx, so we can assist as best as our memories will allow us. It takes deep pockets, patience through the ups and downs of a long distance relationship whilst things are progressing, and most importantly, love for each other on the long and winding road
Best thing about Cindy and I is were very strong - even though not seen each other since end of 2010. I hadnt expected to be out of work this long and its painful but pushing as hard as I can to find the best solution to all this. Cindy is fully aware of everything, shes patient just wants everything should be done correct and she says time passes fast. So I am very lucky.
Hi Shinx, If I were you I would take any job. Agencies are always looking for people and there is no shame in working at a lower level. I was a manager with an oil company on great money. I became a truck driver and it has paid for my girlfriend to be my wife and then she went through the spousal visa process and ILR. I sometimes get "very cheesed off" working with numpties in the transport "profession" but my wife and I are together every day with two amazing kids. Get cracking if you want happiness, there's no shame in working at something else to fulfill your hopes. The more you are unemployed the harder it is to jump back into reality. Taking a change of direction could lead you into all sorts of opportunities. I would take a job doing anything if I was in love and wanted to be together. What have you got to lose? Time.....................
Take any job??? Shame?? I would take any job problem is not been offered one yet! There are jobs for me out there and I apply, I get interviews, problem is I am in line with 10 others and I have beaten say 80 already to even to get to an interview stage. Its a big numbers game. I'm cracking I assure and but its certainly not so easy as you seem to be suggesting. I would fill shelves, wipe butt, whatever it takes....
Agree ! I quit my my globe-trotting job with obscene salary and fat expenses account so I could spend time with my wife. When I returned to UK I found it to be the hardest thing to get an ethical job (well, at my age anyway). Every cloud has a silver lining, and by 'putting myself about' everyday I finally found one.
If you are interested in a job in wine sales, try http://www.pieroth.co.uk/careers/ Don't expect to make zillions in two minutes..... It takes time. The important thing is getting something to do to get out of the doldrums, and it will be much easier finding a more suitable job, if you are already working. We are always employing people, so the chance of being offered a job are extremely high. main requirements Driving licence. Own car and willingness to work. good luck. PM me with your name and address and home number if you want me to get someone to send you some bumf. We have offices nationwide.
Telephone Call Centres always seem willing to take on people - whatever their work history, qualifications etc as long as you can pass an aptitude test; there is often a large staff turnover and they are frequently recruiting new staff. It could be market research/customer satisfaction surveys/outbound sales calls/inbound sales calls etc. I had no work from 1995 until 2007 when I saw work doing market research surveys from home! I jumped at the opportunity, especially as I had been doing some mystery shopping for the same company for some while. It gave me a pretty steady but low income for four years (topped up with Working Tax Credit) until they lost a major contract without notice. Undeterred, I found a job working in a call centre for a major international market research organisation within days - at the age of 60! But, for various reasons, the job was not suitable - the lift kept breaking down and the disabled parking bay was removed, making it very difficult at times. I am now looking to go self-employed again, working from home for Arise UK doing inbound sales... http://www.arise.com/in-the-united-kingdom/ It takes a few weeks to train and some financial outlay for suitable PC and phone equipment, NRB check and training costs. You also need to create a limited company (which they call a VSC) or get paid via an existing VSC. I am in the middle of my application right now.
I am looking at that. Also teaching English abroad, though it complicates things further but its a good possibility
