That story highlights only too well how ridiculous things have become in this country, the people who are offended by the Union Jack might consider returning to their country of origin as I'm sure no British person would be offended by the sight of his countrys flag.

I find it really annoying to read stories like this, I really do.

The offended people may not come to any Asian countries as they'll be more offended!

People should be allowed to wear what they want wherever they want, we have some crazy laws in the UK as you will see.

I think you'll find that those who tend to complain about the British flag on the mainland UK are actually not foreign. They are scared of how it would seem to others who are foreign, , which is jumping to conclusions in my opinion, or connect the flag to a negative jingoistic view. I don't think many foreigners are anti the British flag at all!

In Norn Iron, it can give offence based upon the context and the one-upmanship behind it at a local level (same with the tricolour) and that's a shame but a different story that should be respected even if not agreed with IMO.

The burka poses another set of many questions ie security in banks and building societies shops schools and many public places!
